"OK, I tried 5 other MP5 claw mounts, attempting to mount a green dot and 3x magnifier on my polymer frame GSG 522, with no success. When the mounts were clamped down, the cocking handle would only retract back 1/2 to 2/3 it's travel, before binding and locking up. You couldn't pull the cocking handle back to load a round, or to rotate the knob up to lock the handle back. Seems the other mounts would press down on the aluminum receiver cap (underneath the cheapo factory plastic scope mount) and flex the polymer frame enough to cause the cocking tube to bind/lock up!
Bottom line, if you have a polymer frame GSG 522, THIS IS THE MOUNT YOU NEED!!! It clears the receiver cap, including the locking lug, and your 522 will function just fine! It also has wider vertical legs that puts the downward pressure farther away from the weak receiver cap recesses. BTW, the receiver cap is loose anyways and will not hold any scope mount in place. The G&G LP rail locks firmly in place and provides plenty of room for a scope, or like in my case, a green dot AND a 3x magnifier! It costs a little more, yeah, but IT WORKS!!! I've put about 700 rounds through my 522 and my witness marks show it has not moved at all. Very well made, lightweight yet rock solid. Get one, you won't be disappointed.
Oh yeah, I got my GSG really cheap; previous owner tried to mount a scope and then couldn't get it to work...I did, thanks to G&G, and EVIKE.COM, the only place I could find this mount!
