Armee-Universal-Gewehr (Universal Army Rifle) or AUG is a futuristic assault rifle developed during the 1960s in Austria to replace the aging 7.62mm FAL automatic rifles in service at the time. Often considered as the first successful bullpup rifle, the AUG was indeed well ahead of its time as far as concept and design; it was highly advanced when it first went into service in the late 1970s.
Its bullpup design which moves the core of the rifles action behind the trigger allows for the use of a full length rifle barrel in a weapon with the ergonomics of a sub-machine gun. Some other significant features include fully ambidextrous controls and reversible charging handle and shell ejection port allowing the rifle to be configured for both left and right handed shooters. The unique two stage trigger allows the user to fire in semi-auto and full-auto without needing to manipulate a selector switch; for semi-automatic fire, the operator will just pull the trigger half way and if fully-automatic fire was necessary, the operator needs to only pull the trigger all the way back.Chambered in the 5.56x45mm NATO cartridge for its ease of use and handling, the futuristic family of rifles in the AUG line can be quickly adapted to accommodate a wide variety of roles in the ever changing battlefield with just a quick swap of the barrel. The AUG is definitely a well-rounded combat weapon with a proven track record that can stand its own even with todays modern combat rifles.

" I've had this gun for 2 years now and it has been used pretty consistently. It has performed exceptionally well and held up great. I attached a red dot sight on on of the angled rails on the side so I can switch between scope and red dot.
Pros
-Good range
-Durable metal/polymer construction
-Integrated scope is fantastic, super clear and can be used in both short/long range engagements
-Very accurate
Cons
-Trigger is a bit chunky and stiff
-Plastic mag release broke recently, not a huge problem though
Overall a great gun for beginners or pros
" In short the gun is amazing. I have now had mine for over a year and I have had minimal problems. Problem one was the inner barrel died after very little use. the inner lining stuff seemed for strip out of it and was horrible. BBs flew straight to the side up or down but never straight. I put in a ZCI 6.02 tightbore and it has been godly. Second issue is it is not lipo ready. If you run a lipo it will melt you contacts in no time. You NEED A MOSFET if you are running anything more than a 8.4. That being said an 8.4 is usable but under powered. A 9.6 is great but it does not fit. if you want to use something big you need a mosfet and use a lipo because they will fit. Other than that duel stage triggers are a pain but you can find 3d prints to fix that issue. All and all I love my AUG and would but it again. I am not sure if I would buy another A1 I think I would want an A2 but I do love the looks. Yes you can sight in the scope.
