WE-Tech MSK CQB Airsoft GBB Rifle (Color: Black)

10 Customer Reviews

by Eliud G L. on 06/20/2020
"Was skeptical since many reviews talk down about this gun but I took a chance since it went on sale. Heres my personal experience.
Many reviews state common issues found specifically to the MSK model but mine had no major issues except the select fire switch and the bolt not locking back once mags were emptied of bbs.
Overall the gun is solid. I took the gun apart and lubed it like crazy now the bolt locks in place after shooting the last bb and shoots fantastic.
The switch requires both thumbs (one on each side pushing down or up at the same time) to switch between safe, semi and full auto. Very glad mine had minimal issues overall.
Box came with flash hider if you choose to remove the orange tip. And all necessary attachments for the gun.

*Orange tip is held by a pin and some of the strongest glue. *

Pros
-Great kick (especially on full auto)
-Stock adjustments
-Feels great
-Looks great
-Weight ( can be a con since it is bulky)

Cons
-Selector Switch
-Complicated hop up
-User Manual has rough english translation (thankfully has diagrams)

"I've had this gun for a few months and as if right now it's is cool and even with the could im able to get at least a mag and 1/2 tho when im in side its like it doesn't want to run out of gas. I don't have a crono so i can't say anything about that how ever the gropings at 40 ft. are very tite the kick is nice feels a bit stronger than a .22 cal rifle all-around its a great gun for the price and i mean it's an ACR so there rear to see i love it and im sure that you would as well

"I decided to do another review thats close to almost a year of usage. I still have the rifle with stock internals except the inner barrel. I swapped to an A+ 6.08mmX270mm inner barrel so I can use Nuprol 4.0 (close or whichever gives you more fps) and it shoots VERY consistent at 398FPS for outdoors. I use Nuprol 2.0 for indoor CQB with .25g BBs because I've got into it with the chrono guy who is a moron for not understanding physics and propper GBBR chrono'ing.

Again, Ive heard lots of lemons, but I got myself a golden WE ACR CQB and its primary choice for playing airsoft now.

NOTE: Wether you choose the Carbine length or SBR, you MUST polish the bolt's belly and top of hammer due to the paint causing cycling issues making friction.

"I got this rifle as my first GBBR and after several friends told me not to buy it. It is a bad a** rife!! Mine shoots 320-310 FPS using .20g, but you have to buy the NPAS valve to open the nozzle for more gas to flow and FPS boost. It's solid build quality and can't wait to try on my local fields.

PROs:
- Weights about 5-6 lbs
- crisp trigger response
- Good recoil
- Collapsible and retractable stock
- Cheek riser
- Monolithic uninterrupted top rail
- Remington Defense direct attachment rail
- Two 5 hole picatinny, 10 hole picatinny rail attachment
- Ambi everything! (mag release, bot release, charging handle placement, fire selection)

CONs:
- Gotta have the RA Tech NPAS nozzle to manipulate gas for higher FPS to play outdoor.

"I've shot the GBB version, and own the AEG version. My review of both:

The GBB version:
From my short experience with this rifle, it was well performing. It hits hard, is quite accurate, and has great recoil. The build quality is very solid. The polymer lower is good quality, the aluminum upper is solid, and the hand gaurd is well crafted. The fire rate in full auto starts to drop off quite significantly as the mag runs down though. This is a problem in all GBBs, however it seems a bit more pronounced in this rifle. Most of the time GBBs are used in semi-auto though, so this shouldn't really be a problem for anyone. Mags are pretty expensive, but don't have much issues with leaking and are quite efficient. The hammer is not good quality, and the bolt requires extensive oiling. Mag release and bolt catch/release are all well made, however the fire-selector can give some people trouble, but most of the time is fine. The rifle is heavy, but not too heavy. It's a solid feeling, decent weight. I would recommend some of thee RA-tech internal upgrades for this rifle to really shine, however out of the box it is solid and well performing.

The AEG version (not sold on this site):
The AEG version of this gun is great. As stated above, the build quality is excellent. It has a good weight, and just feels great. As much as WE has been known for bad internals, the gearbox and motor are very good. The gearbox is lipo-ready for a 7.4v, however with some shimming and some minor upgrades it is good for use with an 11.1v. Rate of fire is solid on both a 9.6v NiMH andd 7.4v Lipo, but battery space is very tight. Recommend getting a PEQ box to fit a NiMH or Lipo battery. Hop up and inner barrel are of good quality, and the gun is very accurate. Mine was shooting right around 400 with .20s, but I use .25s which brings it down to about 380 so it is good for CQB fields. The included rail segments are aluminum and work great.
NOTE: They are not Magpul MLok rails, as most people say they are. Mlok rails will work, however they require slight modification. The included rails are based on Remington's proprietary QD rail design that was made just for the Remington ACR, which uses the style handguard featured on this rifle. They are not for sale to the civilian market, however CADEX makes a version of the same rails.

If you want to further accesorize your rifle, I highly recommend getting these. I have put another 4 of these rails on my handguard, and can attach whatever I may need without a hassle.

Overall, this gun is great. Externally, the gun is well built and looks great.Internally, the GBB version is a bit lacking, however upgrade kits can be purchased and the gun becomes incredible. The AEG version is great performing stock, and with internal upgrades achieves an equally amazing state of performance. Hopefully Evike will start selling the AEG version soon, because it is not sold stateside for under $400, and international sellers (where it is MUCH cheaper) can be kinda sketchy to buy from. If you want a gun that is solid i build and performance and can turn heads, I highly recommend this gun!

"So basically: 4/5 stars because this thing is pretty good right out of the box.

It took me abit to actually make the decision, but after some research and thinking, I bought it and a few other things. I'm gonna be blunt and say this is not a gun you wanna buy thinking it needs no modifications. Trust me when I say you should listen to the other reviews and look into the recommends upgrades.

Here are the ones I bought that I highly recommend:
An NPAS nozzle, a smaller, more accurate 6.01mm inner barrel, and some gun lube cuz trust me it needs it.

The NPAS let's you adjust your fps as needed, the barrel is more accurate, and the gun lube is a must as you're better off relubing the bolt system.

Downsides: obviously doesnt do too well in colder weather, but isnt unusable. The selector switch is not fun. I have to use my off hand to use it, but with time itll give more leeway to work comfortably. Otherwise, your hand guard might have the ever so slightest wobble due to the ez release design, but that's about it. I've yet to have any other issues with it and it's a beautiful gun to own. Gas mags are effective, make sure you get the same spare ones it comes with instead of the other M4 dual style.

All in all: great gun, you should seriously get the NPAS nozzle and install it, and the lube for insurance, everything else is optional. Hope this helps!

"A very fun rifle to use but not for highly competitive games.

Pros: Great kick can make for some fun shooting practice.
Solid gun that'll last a long time under matinence.
Gas lasts for about 2 1/2 mags.

Cons: Full auto has some cycling issues.
I break my finger every time I try to switch the safety.
One of the screws near the bolt release comes loose every time I shoot.

Overall the cons aren't terrible and are manageable. Not a bad purchase.

"When I first got this gun it came in a big box all together and without the iron sights not attached. This Gun Is Gas To The People That Think This Gun Isn't It Is.

This gun is worth it out of the arenas but if you want to use it in the arenas use 23 gram BBs because 460 FPS with 20 gram BBs are not allowed.

I will be suggesting this gun to my friends because it is very fun good job you guys for getting this gun :D

"Here's my take on the WE-Tech MSK CQB Airsoft GBB Rifle:

TL;DR version

PROS:
Great exterior functionality
Fantastic exterior design
Easy disassembly
Simplistic internal swapping

CONS:
Stiff selector switch
Loose bolts after excessive use
Full auto cycling issues
Must be upgraded for best results (or just even fire full auto)

I give this rifle an honest 3 out of 5 for its great external design and thought into players upgrading their rifle, but it loses a whole 2 stars for me purely because the full auto does not function as stated requiring you to seek upgrades to get the rifle to work as intended.

FULL REVIEW (Tips for best use included):

First off i would like to state that i purchased the dark earth version of the rifle, which seems to be the ONLY one on sale. That for me was a red flag and had me thinking "Maybe this isn't the best idea". After looking into the rifle I found that the cycling issue seems to have something to do with the gas magazine itself not being able to keep up. I looked into what I could do to alleviate the issue with full auto not working properly.

After some forum trolling, I was able to find that HPA (High Pressure Air) tapping my rifle would fix this issue; for at least the time being until I can get upgraded internals. For those not well versed into HPA tapping, it is simply using Co2 canisters like a paintball gun and adding a regulator to scale down the PSI (Pounds of force per Square Inch). HPA tapping is what I like to consider the in between to full HPA engines like the notorious PolarStar.

Getting down to the important questions!

IS THIS GUN GOOD?

My opinion on the base gun itself sold here at Evike.com, NO this gun is not good. The issues with the stock gun's full auto cycling, loose bolts, and stiff selector switch there are plenty of other EAGs (Electric automatic guns), EBBRs (Electric blowback rifles) and even GBBRs (Gas blowback rifles) that perform much better than this rifle. This takes me to my next topic though.

CAN YOU MAKE THIS GUN BETTER?

My favorite feature to this GBBR is that it is quite easy to take apart and switch out internals and externals. This may even be the best gun I've ever had when it comes to swapping internals. The full internal upgrades to make this weapon "decent" will cost around $150-$200. Alternatively you can purchase the HPA tap for the magazine which will cost $15 per magazine. For the HPA tap you will need to purchase a Co2 tank no different than a paintball tank, along with a regulator. I got the Redline regulator for $150 and it works great with my $160 ninja Co2 tank. If you are looking for a better magazine, 6mmProShop offers a WE-Tech 300 round magazine that has a HPA tap integrated into the magazine for $110. In conclusion, yes you can make this gun better, but it will cost you upwards of $200-$300, which isn't too bad for a gun that; if enough love and care is put into it, will last you forever.

Conclusion:

Overall, I give this rifle an honest 3 out of 5 for its great external design and thought into players upgrading their rifle, but it loses a whole 2 stars for me purely because the full auto does not function as stated, requiring you to seek upgrades to get the rifle to work as intended. This rifle is great for anyone who already has an HPA setup and is looking to increase their arsenal without breaking the bank for a new HPA engine.

"This is what I think of this gun so far. I got it about 4 days ago. It has nice externals. Seems like the paint job really improved with WE. The gun shoots rather accurate. There are a few things that I don't like which are noteworthy.
1. The fire selector is VERY stiff.
2. The pmags are wobbly.
3. The gun has some rather serious cycling issues. Maybe I got bad luck, but it seems like I am not alone when it comes to cycling issues with the WE msk. It is ok on semi auto, if you dont pull the trigger fast. It fails after about 3-5 rounds on auto mode, ejecting all gas in mag. I have NOT tested other mags yet. Maybe the stanag or 20 rd ones work better. I am not sure. It seems the bolt doesn't travel back fast enough for the continuous fire. Maybe short-stroking the bolt will help, but I am yet to figure out how to do that without having the bolt not lock back on last round. I will also put this in comment section and see your insights. Thanks!
I will update if the issue is fixed.
