Keymod is the name given to a universal interface system for firearm accessory components in an effort to establish a system superior to the MIL-STD-1913 accessory rails currently in use. This system consists of two parts, the KeyMod slot, and the KeyMod nut. This system is intended to be used as a direct attachment method for gun accessories such as flash light mounts, laser modules, sights, scope mounts, vertical grips, rail panels, hand stops, barricade supports, and many others, which also be used in Airsoft games.

" This is a solid kit. It ships as three items; The rail handguard, outer barrel, and flash hider. An included barrel bushing that sits within the end of the rail will help with any barrel wobble issues. The inner barrel length appropriate for this is 300mm. This set uses a barrel nut that has to be lined up with the screw holes, which can be difficult when trying to install the rail for the first time. For some reason there is threading for a -14mm barrel or extension to be screwed into the end of the flash hider.
" This front assembly is amazing. You can try to piece together a keymod setup and it will cost you basically the price of a new gun, or you you can go this route and have an outer barrel, flash hider/compensator, and front rail system for around $100, so its a great way to save the bank. The materials are top notch, they feel like quality pieces, not cheap at all. The end result is a sleek looking gun with a very low profile. I definitely encourage getting something like a Magpul MBUS sight however, because a normal triangle site on the front looks kind of dopey, that's just what I had laying around at the time. Final thoughts, stop thinking about it and just get it...TREAT YO SELF!
