"This will not fit an red star ak74u required extensive dremeling to get to fit but once modified to fit is extremely secure and is an excellent rail.

"I bought this for my E&L 2nd gen AKS-74U and I can confirm that this is too short to be used for the gun. I had to make extensive modifications to make this compatible with that gun.

I wanted to pair this with the g&p smaller dbal and it will not work on the sides. I wound up drilling multiple holes and tapping them so I could use screws to hold the laser in place and extend the front length of the rail.

Not ideal, but cheaper than the official zenit piece for $140.
