"Purchased this as use for both real steel (custom-built AR pistol) and Airsoft, and I can say the build is fairly sturdy and form-fitting to the rails. Sight posts are easily adjustable, and finish is flush with the rest of the build. Extra rail space is convenient for use of lights and lasers, and the added rail height makes special use of red dot sights with standard rail mounts easier to install and maintain. Storage doesn’t snag on anything, and gives more depth to the piece.

For real steel use, please make note the screw that connects the two pieces together is too long for a picatinny rail Handguard due to the beveled section that the screw connects to for the AEG. At the same time, the screw will have no locking nut and be too long to seat on a real steel Handguard, so you will need to use a shorter hex screw with a matching nut to tighten against the receiver and the Handguard. Without the locking nut, the end of the screw with scrape against the Handguard and potentially damage it where the gas tube enters into the upper receiver assembly. So consider using a free-float knurled aluminum Handguard when installing it on any real firearm.
