"I love this rifle, I got the paratrooper model last fall its just as great as this rifle, the real wood is awesome!

Got it for my WWII Pacific theater reenactment gear

Great gun!

"I really like the gun! It's good wood and metal, perfect for my use. The only down side is that it doesn't come with any tools or anything of that matter. Also I'm not sure but the loading nossel is plastic, not sure if that's a big deal. Also a lot of people were saying that the co2 runs out quickly. I can go through 6-7 full mags before any thing changes. Other than that it's an amazing gun and without an orange tip it is almost indistinguishable from a real M1.

P.S. be sure to buy an extra mag!

Way worth the money!!!!!!!

"First of all... I LOVE this gun!!!!
The M1 Carbine was always one of my favorite weapons, but I know what you're thinking... its semi auto and has a 15rd mag, does it work against AEGs? and the answer... YES!!!!
This is because this thing is dead on accurate and the fps is great for giving you those long range shots. That fps again comes in handy when punching through shrubs and bushes that will stop that annoyed m4 from hitting you back. Outwardly, it is an absolutely beautiful weapon, with a real wood stock, and it feels excellent in your hand. The only problem I have with it is the cost of the mags... They can get a bit pricy... But, if you combine this with the win gun 1911 and a Phantom Gear Shoulder Holster and you can get in some more shots when things get rough. Or you can get something small like the Baretta SMG or a MP5 or something for close defense work. Last comment... when I first got the gun, it tended to slam fire meaning when the bolt flew back, it would fire again on its own. I'm not sure why it did this, but it seems to have grown out of it, so its not a real problem.

Pros:
Its an M1 Carbine!!! (for those who love them as much as I do)
Real Wood, Beautiful Gun
High FPS
Super Accurate
The bolt flying back with each shot is awesome

Cons:
Extremely expensive mags (use the 23% coupons)
Mags are hard to load the co2 in, it tends to all leak out before you can get it screwed tight
FPS (its too high for most fields, and its not bolt action, so you can't use sniper rules)

All in all its a great weapon to play at your friends house since they don't make you chrono your weapons before you play :)
If you want a beautiful, realistic, wwii weapon that hits hard, and right where you aimed it, I definitely suggest this one.

"Excellent choice M1 Carbine/Paratrooper
WARNING long review comparing to the new KA M2 Carbine and Paratrooper

Bought mine on the Epic Deal at 10% less and was very excited to add to my collection. It arrived in non typical KA new style plain minimal graphic brown box unlike the original black and red glossy box in the past. Is this the new style and cost cutting measures? When I first opened I noted orange electrical tape wrapping around the wood handle or grip on the paratrooper version, butt stock and foregrip. Be careful to remove the tape as mine removed the finishes and also took and small sliver of wood. from the grip. Had to refinish it with walnut stain to hide the bear wood. Minimum foam insert only at the stock and front end unlike the M1s that were completely protected and encased in dark foam. The orange plastic flash hider cover is glued and pinned on the underside to ensure it will not come off the rifle.

I have now in my collection 4x Marushin 6mm & 8mm M1 & M2 carbines with Walnut wood finishes in both dark and lighter finishes, and 4x KA M1 and M2 carbine and paratrooper for this comparison.

For the purpose of this review I will make the comparison to the 4x variants of the KA CO2 M1s and green gas M2s. Occasionally I will reference the Marushin's carbine.

Pros:
- fun to occasionally shoot full auto in a burst trigger action;
- many parts are compatible to Marushin and vice versa except the new 30rds magazine and magwell are not interchangeable. See my review for the 30rds magazines.
- uses he more common, less pricey 6mm bbs unlike the original Marushin 8mm bbs;
- unusual platform for a Vietnam or variant load-out, unlike the common M4s or AKs platforms;
- real wood and metal rifle;
- cheaper to by from Evike.com than to order from overseas with high shipping cost as well as US Customs etc.

Cons:
- very expensive comparatively to the KA CO2 M1s variants @$300 to $350 in 2015 when they first came out to the new M2s variants in 2022 for an additional $50 to $80 for full auto feature; BTW Marushin M1s/M2s were going for about $300 to $350 back when they were first sold at Evike.com in 2010 to 2013;
- the 2022 King Arms M2s variants increased in cost/profits and reduced the quality and details found in their first M1s variants;
- quality of wood has no dark grains, not walnut, more orange, not brown/black and softer quality wood; It is no longer close to the wood finish of the real carbines;
- no trademark or markings on the receiver/bolt assembly, the M1s variants had inscribed "U.S. Carbine CAL .30 M1" at the top by the bolt and unique 7 digits serial numbers at the adjustable sight. These details makes the replicas more realistic and for the price paid;
- the metal finish is now a "parkerized" very easily scratched and marked finish, no longer an antique blued metal finish seen in the M1s variants on the front sights, the bayonet lug, sling mounts, the entire receiver with bolt, rear sight and paratrooper stock. This new finish is not in line with the real carbines.
- firing pin tends to release all the gas out of the magazine on a few occurrences even after spraying silicone lubricants. Remember, this carbine bolt needs to be locked back or at least hammer locked back before inserting magazine. If not, the firing pin will nick the out-take valve pin and release some of the gas from the magazine. This didn't occur with the Marushin or KA M1 variants and the magazine could be placed in the magwell without pulling the bolt back.
- extra 30 rds gas magazines are very expensive @$75 each in comparison to the M4s and other GBB rifle gas magazines;
- cannot use the CO2 15 rds magazines @$60 each since the BBU nozzle is for green gas. Changing this to a CO2 BBU nozzle will cost another $39 for this not so easy swap.
- Disassembly is time consuming to access the BBU and nozzle but is straightforward starting from the front end or front sight making your way down to the receiver and stock. Screw driver and allen/hex key is you need.

In conclusion: Is it really worth the money getting the KA M2s variants plus extra magazines? Was the original M1s variants too close to the real carbines that KA decided to downgrade the quality to look more like a airsoft than a close to real, but a replica?

Personally for the money, quality and details, I'd buy the original M1s variants, replace the nozzle to green gas and use the 30 rds "banana" magazines. This is what I did for my M1 paratrooper now using green gas and the M1 carbine to use the CO2 15rds magazines.

"I bought this for a wwII loadout, first thing I found that the wood is very soft and can very easily be scratched or scraped. Just in transit to a game it got a nice gash from the front sight of my ak. U also have to learn to count your shoots more then you would an ak or m4, sadly the bolt doesn’t lock out when the mag rounds out of its 15 rounds so u can and will be shooting blanks. But over all I have highly enjoyed the gun the blow back is very satisfying and once you get used to it it’s a lot of fun to use but make sure u have lots of spare mags I got 3 extra with it and plan to get more, the mags gas wise are bad u can get about 4-5 mags out of the co2. Ive seen some people say the empty co2 is annoying to get out of the mag but mine came out just fine on all 4 mags no problems there. Some people are mad they can’t fit into original m1 carbine mag pouches, this is true but, I found just using m1 rigger pouches work fantastic u can fit 3 mags in one pouch. I’m going to give it a 4 out of 5 stars mostly because the wood is soft and the bolt doesn’t lock open when empty, wish it did

"I had high expectations for this gun, but I am left rather disappointed. Build quality is ok, but really nothing to get excited about. The woods decent but the finish is mediocre, I’ve honestly seen faux wood that looks better. The metal bits give off that cheap pot metal vibe and the paint wears off easily. For $330 I expect a little better than Chinese wood and pot metal from king arms. Everything is put together solidly though with the only rattle coming from the charging handle, but that’s a result of the design and not the build quality. Weight and handling are pretty authentic, with the exception of the mag that has to weigh almost 2 pounds by itself. Seriously the mags are horrible, I can’t state that enough. They are overly heavy, incredibly difficult to load C02 don’t fit in real m1 carbine pouches, have limited capacity, and cost $48. Brutal. The only saving grace for this gun is it’s accuracy and performance. It’s an absolute tack driver with .30’s with really good range and a beautiful crisp trigger. But you only get 15 rounds so in my opinion this is just another WW2 wall hanger. It is not practical or skirmish grade. At over 100 cheaper I think the Air Venturi licensed M1 Carbine is the better choice. The real wood of the king arms just isn’t worth it at all.
