"So far, so good! Only had this a week or so at the time of the review.
About the APS M40A3 (550fps version), good for the price and the platform.
Then BB's get to the target FAST. .2 gram BB's registered 551 average
It is compatible with SOME VSR 10 components, I have not figured out exactly which parts, yet there are videos of it being disassembled.
Some say the feeding issues are a dealbreaker with the gun, I find this to be only HALF true
If you cock the gun while pointing it up and very slow it will jam more often, if you are aiming it straight ahead it never jams for me. And make sure to set the magazine all the way into the gun, give it a little love tap.
Tossed on an expensive scope that I KNOW holds zero, the accuracy is about as good as the BB you toss in it. Had an 6~8" grouping at 100ish feet with no wind whatsoever.

For $170, it ain't bad at all. If you like the design and placement of the magazine for realism, get this! If not, then there are other alternatives.

"Updated review: I bought this gun a little over a year ago and after dropping in some upgrades to increase range and accuracy, i’ve come to love it even more than when I first bought it. Of course there are a few problems that many people have encountered with this gun, myself included. The worst problem is that it splits bbs and or jams them into the stock instead of the chamber. This happens because of the magazine and its tendency to wobble in addition to the plastic feeding ram and plate. A quick fix that has worked beautifully for me is to wrap electrical tape around the magazine to prevent wobble and to keep it straight and in line with the rest of the feeding mechanisms. After about 30 matches I 10/10 recommend this gun and hope that this write-up helps anyone with the mag wobble and feeding problems! Thanks for reading!

"I was very excited when I received the gun but it splits bbs every 4to5shots and it will occasionally fire without me pulling the trigger which I think is a safety hazard.

"its a good starter sniper and the only problem I've had so far is that it sometimes splits the bb when you chamber it.

"Just purchased this and extremely happy with it. Range, accuracy is very good. Feels like an actual gun, smooth bolt pull, good weight, etc. only down side is the mag wobbles, isn’t too much of a problem though. 9/10 great gun.

"Just shot my rifle at a long range and it is very accurate and straight shooting. One of the only cons is that the mag wobbles a little bit but it still feeds right.

"This a good gun. I found out that you can use vsr10 hop up bucking, barrel, spring, and piston guide. Everything else is proprietary to the gun. It does its job as a sniper rifle for an intermediate player. Good accuracy and fps. Bolt pullback is also very smooth.

"I've had this weapon for a few months caught it on sale way below its normal price and snatched it up.

Pros:
It has magazines which I can easily remove and install.
Its easy to disassemble and reassemble to make adjustments or maintenance.
Has a good placed hopup unit.

Cons:
You have to rack the bolt fast, it can be a little stiff but the more you cycle bb's the easier it becomes.
The bb feeding mechanism is kinda flimsy, but is cheap if something happens to it.

All in all it is a toy so I dont expect it to weather a nuclear war. However if a new type of feeding mechanism were to be made and put into this weapon it would be outstanding. And yes i still give it 5 stars.

"First off: LOVE THIS GUN.
I got it about three months ago and it is solid out I the box. The removable stock helps with transport because it is so long. The thing is crazy accurate thanks to the pre installed tight bore barrel. At 40 yards with the right bb's I can hit a milk jug 8/10 times. At 50 yards a torso. This is completely stock and I am super stoked for the tune up kit. Great gun!!! Good job APS. 5/5 would buy again.

"Fantastic Rifle out of the box, not a lot of upgrade options but not much needed as well, if you're very savy with zeroing and get a nice scope, you can make this rifle very accurate, The only thing I really did not like was the FPS, but that's just an "out of the box" view point

"I been waiting for a M40 replica and I was very excited to receive mine! The rifle is build very authentic and to scale to my M40A3, good weight, and finish.

I took it out to a few skirmishes, it is not your ordinal AEG run and gun gaming, but the rifle is powerful, accurate and has very good range.

All and all, it is a great replica of the M40 and fun to shoot! I love it!

"I was looking to get myself a bolt action springer for skirmish games with friends, and was looking at various M40 variant guns. I found this one in the boneyard for $52 and decided "why not", and I have to say- it's pretty good. Mine arrived with a magazine and in it's original box (the box didn't surprise me, but the mag did). After messing with it some, I discovered that it had some broken BBs in it. After getting those cleared out, it was shooting again.
The hopup works great, and it can loft .2s fairly well. However, this gun feels like it wants heavier BBs, which I haven't messed with yet. I also think the hopup needs some work as after 75-80 feet, the BBs pull left pretty hard. This may peter some with heavier BBs- I'll have to try that out.
The main issue I have with the gun that is fairly frustrating is that the mags are finicky. It took me a bit to figure out that the mags will settle back when you click them into place, and you need to rock them forward to ensure they feed. I broke a couple BBs figuring this out- which is likely why this gun was in the Boneyard. I haven't had a repeat of the problem since I figured that out. I just ensure the mag is seated correctly and she drives fairly well. Unfortunately it's pretty easy to bump the mag out of position if you're not careful as the mag latch is rather puny for the weight of the magazine.
One thing I dislike about this gun is the feeding mechanism. It's a long trough that goes from the magazine up into the chamber. That trough is made of two plastic rails that are screwed together. The bolt strips the BB out of the mag, pushes it up the trough, and up into the chamber. the BBs break in the trough if the mag isn't seated correctly (which can happen as noted above).
These issues make this springer a thinking man's springer. You need to know what the issue is, and how to correct it or prevent those issues in the first place.
Overall, if you're willing to deal with the quirks of this gun, it's fairly decent. Good heft, and the ability to mount a bipod and scope to it make for a decent mid range sniper. Once I get heavier BBs and give those a try, I'll post an updated review.
