"It lights up the bbs very well. the AAA batteries last about 4 weekends of play (4 saturdays of 7 hour game days - 15-20 min matches with 5 min breaks). It is big. It is heavy. not suitable for a pistol. looks great on a rifle. If you have to have something big for your tiny complex fine. otherwise go for the xcortech 301XT, it's cheaper, lighter, rechargable, auto on/off, way smaller and it's cheaper by $20. it's a no brainer

"Functions amazingly. BBS are very easy to see. Wish there was a light showing on/off. On my Kwa lm4 it does affect the accuracy because a small space is left between the inner gun barrel and the barrel of the tracer unit.

"I put this unit on my Elite Force 1911 Tac. and sent roughly 20-30 rounds through her. The bb's looked great, however it completely stopped working, and I have since sent it back.

"I ordered the midnight hawk tracer because I liked the look, because it takes AAA batteries, and because of G&G's good reputation in the past.
As soon as I received it and it got dark out I, of course, decided to mess with it, but it only worked for about 10 shots. I spent about 5 minutes messing around with batteries and trying to get it to work before it started smoking and giving off a burning smell, so I quickly yanked out the batteries and left it in a glass bowl to finish whatever the heck it was doing.
I don't know if G&G has just been having QC issues or something, but I know I'll be going with another brand after that, probably Acetech at a glance.

"I was using this tracer for about a week. One night I was getting my rifle out to show a friend and when I turned on the tracer it began to smoke.....I will only use acetech from this point on.
