"The drum mag and the handguard paired with this is perfect! I have both the Umarex competition series Tavor and the Elite Force Tavor and I personally think this is definitely worth the money.

The main advantages over the competition series Tavor is the higher density polymer body (more sturdy and feels nice), the internals (the gears are reinforced and can handle more stress than the gears on the competition series). The best thing about this platform I think though, is that it is a version 2 gearbox and accepts M4 mags. The parts that are likely to break work with M4 parts, I've replaced gears, the cylinder, piston, and head on this and the gun works fine. The only thing I have had issue with is finding a hop up unit for it and I've heard that the nozzle is unique on the tavor. However, there is another nozzle sold for the Tavor and the hop-up unit is very unlikely to break. The gun is very friendly to experiment with considering it has a QC spring and the barrel is fairly easily to get to. Be careful not to overtighten screws though, especially on the gearbox.

I've used an 11.1V lipo in this for a while and put a considerable amount of stress on it, the first thing that broke was the piston teeth (I had a pretty tough spring in it). For whatever reason full steel teeth haven't worked well for me (perhaps due to poor lubrication) and so I've had better luck sticking to a polycarbonate piston, and one with a steel tooth on the last tooth, but a plastic catch tooth (the tooth for the first contact). The next thing that broke was the trigger contacts. This problem will likely not occur with lower voltage batteries. This problem can be avoided with a MOSFET, and you don't need a fancy one.

I got the F1 Jack HPA conversion kit for this gun and it works beautifully, so if you're ever considering going the HPA route, this gun will allow that. Just be ready to cut up the gun body for an air line.

Only con here is the iron sights, they sit low, so you may be better off getting a riser and a sight if you have bulky goggles.

And now, the rest of the story...

I'll open by saying I love my Tavor. "Emma" was my first purchase last year and I've never looked back. Only misfired once a month ago when I was using a high-cap to zero my sight, and I'm pretty sure that was user error (sorry Emma! No more high-caps for us). I use G&P High RPS Skullfrog M4 mags, and they feed beautifully.

The polymer body is strong and has a rugged feel. Full authentic trademarks from Israel Weapon Industries. There's a bit of extra material from when the manufacturers popped it out of the mold, but you can sand that down (GENTLY!) if it bothers you. I like Emma just the way she is. If you have the know-how, or know someone that has the know-how, you can switch the bolt catch, rail, fire-selector switch, and dust cover to either side of the rifle, so you can fire left handed. The trigger pull is somewhat long, but that's what you get with bullpups.

She may not have a lot of rail space, but there's a comfortable place to set your hand at the battery compartment up front. I've toyed with the idea of getting the Angry Gun rail set. I don't think it's necessary. One rail will be plenty once I've decided on getting a light or a laser. If you have zoom optics, though, you'll want to get the full top rail, because the optic will sit too far from your eye. Your sight picture will be about the size of a penny. Speaking of small sight pictures, the pinhole that is your iron sights is tough to see through, so you'll want to get an RDS when you get the chance. Hey, nobody's perfect!

Yes, there's an electronic blow-back "feature." No, it's not going to throw off your shot. It kicks less than a .22. Yes, it's a LITTLE noisy, so if you're into sound discipline, enemies that are right on top of you will know you're there. No, it's not going to deafen you. Thunder B's are more likely to do that. Yes, it DOES put a little extra pressure on your internals, but disabling it is as easy as pulling the bolt catch. This leaves your dust cover open, so it's up to you if you want to do that. I found this out a couple months ago, so the EBB was on for a while, and still no problems. Come to think of it, I've played on semi-auto only fields, so I've not tried her in full auto. In that case, I'd definitely want to disable the EBB.

Sling points! That small circle at the butt of the rifle is a QD sling mount slot, so you can run one of those through it and attach a single-point sling. If you're fancy, you can get a rail-mounted sling mount and put that up front for a two-point sling. If you're a VIP at a 5-Star Restaurant on a Cruise Ship fancy, you can get a sling strap and fit it in the middle of the rifle just behind the rear sight.

If you're an M4 monkey, using the TAR may take some getting used to. You'll love having all that extra barrel length without having a long rifle. I spoke with my local airsoft tech store and they said the internals are mostly interchangeable if you want to upgrade the thing.

"I LOVE my Tavor. Zero issues. Been using it for 5 months now and no problems. I play once to twice a week all day. Its short length and almost 19" barrel make it Super diverse. Just started running a 11.1v lipo in it a couple weeks ago...so far so good other than some feeding issues due to the mags i use. gonna have to back to mid caps to fix that. 6mm pro shop on this site sells a 15.75" barrel that is semi tight. Brings groups down to a quarter of what they were and makes the gun another 3" shorter which is crazy but it is still VERY accurate.
Absolutley a wonderful weapon, i actually own two in case a buddy wants to play!!!

"I've had this gun for over eight months now, and it has been my go-to ever since. It's durable and performs very well for its price range. It works well for both outdoor and CQB use. My only issue is the limited amount of rail and battery space, but you can buy conversion kits to fix that. If you're looking to try a new platform other than the standard M4, this is the way to go.
