10 Customer Reviews

"I've owned this for over two years, and it still works like a charm. The only modifications made were a new high torque motor, 6.03mm tightbore barrel, and bucking.

The Good
- Good accuracy
- Decent rate of fire (w/9.6v battery)
- Great stock gearbox, no modifications made since purchased

The Cons
- Not necessarily a bad thing, but shoots much higher than the online description (415-418 is my highest tally)
- Somewhat weak motor, recommend replacing it ASAP

Overall, if you want something that's not an M4-style gun but takes the same mags this might be for you.

"I'll keep this quick:
This gun is great! I added a 6.03mm inner barrel, a new motor, and a new bucking.

Pros:
Great look and feel
Plenty of battery space
Great trigger response with new motor
Great range and accuracy

Cons:
Trademarks are in white, not stamped into the metal
Barrel and threads are SLIGHTLY angled upwards, but inner barrel is still straight
Price (I got it for $300, sadly)

Overall, a nice gun, but I might have gone for a FDE SCAR-H, maybe made by VFC next time.

"When I first got this gun, I was under the impression that it shot 350-370fps, turns out, it’s way higher. Try 434fps with an 11.1 Lipo. I know the battery size doesn’t affect the fps, but when I finally got the gun chronoed, I was blown away by the muzzle velocity.

Pro’s:
Decent weight, not too heavy.
Good rate of fire.
Extremely high fps bone stock
Extremely durable body.
Works with most m4/m16 compatible mags.

Con’s:
High fps may not be allowed at some fields.
Broke the stock catch, and stock release button on day one.
ROF could be a bit better for a gun of this quality.

Over-all, a great gun for the price. Maybe the price is a bit high at first, but once on sale, pretty decent. I’ve had a blast with this gun.

"My first impressions with this gun are quite impressive. This CQB Scar-L variant brings good competition with the VFC and G&G options out there, and the gun overall performs EXTREMELY well otb.
PROS:
-Easily removable orange tip.
-Outdoor ready otb (Can be a con cause it shot around ~400 fps otb, definitely not ready for indoor use right away)
-Standard V2 Gearbox so parts availability is great
-Extremely accurate even with standard barrel
-All ambi controls
-Working bolt catch/release, holds open no matter what angle bolt is charged at.
-Metal constructions is VERY sturdy and looks great.
-Wiring isn't the VFC style hinge contacts in the stock (Pro for me because it'll make repairs cheaper)
-Little to no flexing over the whole body
-Battery wires are high gauge and wrapped, very durable.
CONS:
-Motor is really squeaky otb, no real issues other than the sounds though.
-Shoots too hot for indoor use directly otb.
-Bolt release is kinda wimpy and will start to work less and less a little too quickly for my taste
-Battery space can be kinda finicky with batteries getting stuck.
-V2 Gearbox means needing to completely tear it down to replace spring
-Body pin to take apart receiver is REALLY tight the first few times you open it, but loosens rather quickly

Overall, I was thoroughly impressed by this gun and quite honestly, it's worked out a lot better than my friends VFC Scars have, mainly due to its higher gauge wiring for the battery which are also wrapped. The gun is easy to take down and uses common parts; standard V2 Gearbox, VFC Scar hopup unit. The inner barrel is a kind of odd length at about 287mm, so if you get a 300mm barrel, it will stick out a tad, not a problem at all as long as you have a flash hider. I would DEFINITELY recommend buying this gun if you want a Scar, my initial impressions have been nothing short of great, and in my honest opinion WE Tech has really done a great job improving their AEGs and bringing some competition to VFC, it may not look quite as perfect with the stock wires, but the gauge and durability of the wires they do use make up immensely for that, and the lower cost and compatibility with all Scar parts is definitely something to be noted.

***This review is mainly a first impressions review as i have fielded the gun only once as of writing, even if it was for a full 7 hour day, through 10-15 games I will likely update it as i continue to use it, but from this review is fully accurate to my experience with this AEG

"This gun is very amazing. The sound it has out of the box is nothing like I've heard before. It has a very durable build and pretty good features. Very satisfied with my purchase.

Pros:
- great durable build
- plenty of space for attachments
- great sound
- pretty accurate out of box
- decent ROF
- its ambidextrous

Cons:
- very limited space for battery

"Body:
Seems solidly put together. Haven't needed to do any additional work to tighten body components. However, adjustable stock wiggles slightly due to "teeth" in the stock that aren't wide enough to interact properly with the cut outs in the rack inside the stock. Charging handle rattles slightly, but this happened even on my VFC. They need to add some material to those things.
The stock seems like ABS, however, not polymer. Nothing you'll notice, but just an observation. Has held up just fine so far under use.
Wiring is solid, no issues, stock has space for a turnigy 2000 2s 15-25c, and even a longer battery
(127mm x 27mm h x 19mm w).
Ambi selector is a bit stiff - which I think is pretty standard for airsoft ambi mechanisms. They all seem to rotate around a very small bar - just the nature of having a gearbox.
Good weight. Not heavy - just feels like the correct weight.

-Note: If you want to use this with a PTS MREX handguard, you'll need a dremel to modify the the MREX included barrel lug/ locking piece to fit properly, and remove material on the included MREX barrel lug/mount to allow the handguard to seat properly. I had to also go get some screws from a local hardware store - about 2mm shorter on both ends to lock into the barrel without pushing on the inner barrel. This isn't surprising - the MREX stuff is designed for VFC. Looks great though.

Internals:
Internals are nothing fancy, but not hard to get to or put back together - a lot of .2 or .3 shims thrown all over the place, with plenty of lube. Shot hard out of the box - around 415 with a .2, and a quick 19-20 rps. However, after actually shimming it, the rof dropped (probably because the extra space for the gears to shift around was taken away). Great compression, ready to use with any other internals since it's a standard v2.
My gearbox casing also had bits of metal floating around the gearbox, wedging itself under the gears, due to some kind of casting on the gearbox from the factory not properly cleaned. Nothing that would kill the gun, we're talking flakes, but something to know, and clean out when you get in there.

Hop up is plastic, but serviceable. Adjustments are very tight. Can be removed from the external barrel by simply pushing on the hop up, from the slot on the bottom of the assembly that holds the hop up in place. It'll pop right out.
I've dropped in an upgraded bucking and nub, dropped it back in, and it all holds tightly together.

Magazines:
Haven't had much trouble with magazines at all. A lot of mine are old and customized, so any issues I'm willing to blame on them.

All in all, a solid gun if you don't want to mess with VFC's more proprietary stuff, or have to bend the expensive VFC lower receiver to get the gearbox and ambi stuff back in. Easy to repair and upgrade to your liking, and unique at the field. I grabbed over the VFC because of their proprietary nature, and I didn't like how light my VFC Scar H was. I chose over the ARES because of the proprietary sounding components of the ARES, though the ARES collapsible stock may be a better, sturdier design. Couldn't tell you.

"I really like this gun it works well to my liking. The fire selector switch after a lot of use doesn’t click into place it just sits there but it is tight so it won’t move. Overall great gun

"I can’t say how good the range is but I can say for sure trigger response is crisp and snappy. Unfortunately my hopup already broke within a day of receiving my scar. I didn’t see it on the reviews of this brand and model so take your chances and you won’t end up like me maybe. I have to order parts from Hong King so do I recommend it, yea it’s pretty good for the price.

"This gun is not worth the price, had it only for 3 days a while back and the hop up broke. Not sure if it was damaged through shipping or they sent me a faulty one but on the third day of shooting the hop up broke and some pieces came out the barrel and resulted in the gun not foring anymore.
