"I got this with the intention of it being a hit or a miss as far as internally upgrading because there are no videos or anything on the disassembly of this so i just took the chance. I got this specifically for its "v2 gearbox" design to drop an hpa system into it. I did use it as an aeg before i turned it hpa and it did well enough straight out of the box with the stock internals and stock trigger contacts. Kinda felt like a big m4 without being an m4 if that makes sense.
No pros or cons
Im only going over the information I've gathered from the "v2 gearbox" design this aeg comes with as well as other little quirks in hopes that it can help someone in the future with this as a build.
-it is not a generic v2 gearbox, it CAN use all v2 internals but the design of the gearbox itself is proprietary and only fits in the M98B body and will not fit any other M4 style bodies. The design is more like a hybrid by having the lower part of the gearbox and trigger area a v2 while the upper portion has the top retention style plate and no screws like the v3.
-not sure if the M4 style grip can be replaced with an aftermarket grip because the part of the gearbox that the grip screws into is at a steeper angle. I dont have a spare grip around so i wasn't able to test it, but i thought it should be mentioned.
-after an amazing day of use i decided to hpa it to unlock it's full potential. I disassembled the gearbox and the first thing i noticed was the positive wire halfway chewed through from the pinion gear on the motor, the factory didn't set the wires deep enough into the slots so this was inevitably going to destroy itself. This only matters if you want to keep it aeg. But i wasn't so I didn't care.
-THERE ARE NO AFTERMARKET OR OEM REPLACEMENT GEARBOXES FOR THIS. for those who want to keep it aeg, once the gearbox cracks this is done-zo, fenito. Very important to keep this in mind unless they came out with some replacements by the time this being read.
-the gearbox has a quick change spring guide and can take all v2 internals as well as adjustable v2 triggers and aftermarket v2 trigger boards/mosfets. The gearbox does sit higher in the body like an mp5 or g3 so if you install a v2 maxx adjustable trigger or something similar, it will only come down maybe less than halfway in the trigger guard and look silly.
-THERE ARE NO AFTERMARKET OR OEM REPLACEMENT HOPUP CHAMBERS. The stock hopup chamber is plastic but works good for what it is, stock nub is too squishy for me so a stiffer nub made the longer shots more consistent.
- the stock inner barrel is 590mm but doesn't reach the end of the outer barrel(not flashhider). Has maybe a two inch gap from being flush with the outer barrel(not flashhider)
Parts installed:
P* jack with stock nozzle
Maple leaf 80° macaron bucking
Guns modify 70° nub
AC 650mm 6.03(longest inner barrel i could find)
Chronos at 320fps with .32g bbs at 50ish psi and a 5fps fluctuation
Fun to build, fun to use, funnier for other people seeing me use it in cqb. All in all its good... just wait till it goes on epic deals to get better price.

"i own one of these and its a stinking beast i highly recommend this gun to anyone who likes to clap some kids in airsoft very fun but VERY HEAVY 17lbs

"Love this Beast!!! I received the tan shorter version in the "HEROES & PATRIOTS" box of awesomeness and I cannot say how much I love using it. I'm a taller dude so I don't really mind the added weight. I've been using .23g ammo and have gotten some great range from it. This is my first Sniper so I don't know how it sizes up in comparison to other snipers of Barrett's domain. but I'll just list off some pros and cons.
these apply to the gun and the package
Pros
- very sturdy build and full metal
- magazine has good capacity and fits nicely into gun
- Adjustable hop-up easy to use
- fully adjustable stock and cheek rest stock is foldable
- quite accurate in semi auto mode, but has about a basketball sized spread when you go full auto. (~75 feet from target)
- if intimidation is your goal this is a good option
- very quiet and hardly heard at 30 feet
Cons
- heavy weighed at about 13 pounds
- does not come with battery but not huge issue as they let you know on site
- bi-pod is not a good one. constantly had to fight the main bi-pod legs to stay on its picatinny converter. had to duct tape it so that it wouldn't fall off. then a few minutes into my next battle the picatinny converter decided to give up. don't use the bi-pod anymore I just put some rubber picatinny rail covers on the bottom rails and now that's my grip I use. probably gonna get a new bi-pod anyway.
- not really a con but just a note that the battery storage thing that comes with the gun will not fit the battery pack featured on the "you may also need" section of the site.
- a little spread as mentioned above.
- if you plan to lug this thing around and not stay stationary, you'll get tired. I guarantee that.
- the carrying sling is not at all made for the the QD sling swivels that come with the gun. gonna get a new sling for it eventually.
other than that this is all I've got for this gun. hope this helps you decide on your next purchase.

"I got this from a BOA. Out of the box it is a very well built rifle, feels like you could throw it off a building and it would survive. The upper receiver is metal along with the barrel and moc bolt. The Hop Up is easily adjustable (the moc bolt on the side slides back freely when lifted up). The peq box can be annoying at some times but is manageable. The FPS is low for a sniper but can be adjusted through a spring change. The adjustable cheek rest and stock pad are a nice touch. I wish they made mid caps for this because winding the mag gets old pretty quick. The bipod that come with this is crap. It comes with a sniper stud mount installed and the weaver mount separate. It took 30 minutes to install it and even after that it was still wobbly and was coming unattached. I recommend this to anyone who doesn't want to move around on the field but stay in one spot. If you plan on buying this i suggest investing in a good sling and a bipod.

"Got this a little bit ago. It is solid design sturdy but light. Reason for 4 star is that have not used it and flashhider is difficult to remove or not able to. That why only 4 stars. Other I am satisfaifed. It is long at least 50 inches in length. Will be doing a HPA upgrade and tight bore garret to it, to to get higher fps out of it, since it is only single shot rifle. Grip became lose but just tighter the screw and it is fine. Also the outer barrel will have a little bit of movement. But take wrench and turn it to tighten it up.
All and all it fine weapon and looks are also awsome, very intimidating looking. Do. Is it.
