"This Arisaka model 38. is amazing! It is very realistic and fun to handle. Very solid and simply beautiful to look at and hold.

"So recently received my type 38, I absolutely love this gun. Other guns I've order had various issues or required maintenance before I could even use them, not this. It arrived undamaged, looks exactly like a real one, matches the website description and very fun to use.

I've gotten it dialed in and played a couple matches with it and it has literally become my favorite. If you like the actual rifle or simply want a historical weapon in strongly recommend this.

"This gun is GREAT.
it's made out of real genuine wood and metal.
It shoots hard and it has weight to it like the real thing.
I highly recommend this gun if you are a world war II Reenactor or a collector of WWII memorabilia.
S&T did a superb job on this gun.

"Out of all the airsoft guns I've bought from Evike most needed maintenance in a few weeks, however i have been using and abusing this gun for the last 2 years and it has not had a single issue. I highly recommend

"This gun has never once let me down. It always shoots straight and hits hard, even though I abuse it every week. I've used it in 100 degree heat and below zero cold and it doesn't care, hell I've even used it underwater and in the mud and it still performs flawlessly. If you are looking for a classic bolt action rifle to use for target shooting or milsim or just anything airsoft related then this gun is one of the best guns you could buy.

"Shoots well, for the most part, took some greasing at first and a break-in period. Besides the heavy bolt drag, the rifle is great. For those wondering, everything on this is metal and real wood beside the plastic magazine.

"I have cycled 1000+ BBs since I got this rifle and I feel like it is time to make this review.

Pros
- It looks absolutely beautiful right out of the box, with real wood and metal
- All the parts fit together tightly and secure (except maybe lower band, but it is really no issue since it does not affect performance in any way)
- The motion of the bolt is solid and smooth (with lube)
- The rifle feeds and shoots reliably (Only had one failure to feed so far)
- It is a springer

Cons
- The iron sight is difficult to use
- The bolt needs grease after putting 400 or so BB+ through this rifle
- The bolt release is fake
- The receiver is half covered by the dust cover when you pull back the bolt; Receiver lacks details
- The edge of the hole of the dust cover (where the bolt handle goes through) was slightly bent after me slamming the bolt down multiple times
- The lower band moves a bit, so the handguard also moves ever so slightly forward (I do not think the lower band is good for weight-bearing, so I will not attach the sling)
- Mag is plastic, and nowhere to find replacement mags
- From some Japanese sources, this particular model cannot be fixed with a type 38 bayonet

It may seem that I have listed more cons than pros, but make no mistakes that I absolutely love this rifle. I use it to punch pizza boxes every day I come back home. It is a springer so that means I can just pick it up and have a blast without having to worry about battery/gas. Because it is sping-powered, my hand was sore the first few days from pulling back bolt with force, but once I got used to the resistance the rifle cycled alright. After maybe 400 rounds the bolt felt really stiff, but there is nothing a little WD-40 cannot fix (I know, I know, WD-40 is not really a lube, but I have no proper gun lube around).

"This is a really nice rifle. I'm not giving it 5 stars, but let me provide some pros and cons.

Pros:
Nice bolt pull

High FPS

Impeccable iron sights, don't even need a scope

Real wood stock

High mag capacity (26 rounds)

Cons:
Very expensive (as expected from a replica)

Relatively complex disassembly. (I had to sit down with it for 2 hours straight to figure out how to field-strip it without a manual)

Mags take forever to reload without a speedloader (like all mags do)

It is very hard to lubricate moving parts as there are almost no non-lubricated points to hold onto; very messy maintenance.

No standard screws on the rifle. You need what seems like 5 different screwdriver sizes (both Flat, Phillips, and Allen drivers)

And the worst one; All the screws came stripped. I could barely disassemble it due to all the screws coming factory-stripped. This is a big problem with handmade models or models made with power tools; they never calibrate them correctly so the screws either come loose (ez fix) or stripped (very annoying, pricey fix)

Overall, this is a really nice rifle, but it is a nightmare to disassemble and maintain. I would recommend it, but make sure you have a full screwdriver set.

"Thanks to S&T, I can have an airsoft replica of my all-time favourite rifle - that is, without having to spend a fortune in the process. I've had this rifle since May, and have gamed it several times. Overall, I'm extremely satisfied and I would recommend it to anyone interested.

Pros:
-Beautiful construction. Comparing it with my real-steel 38, the dimensions are almost exactly the same, and it can even mount a Type 30 bayonet (I tried with both a real-steel and plastic one). The handling feels right, and they've done a beautiful job waxing the wood. Feels very smooth and nice to the touch. Historical details like the chrysanthemum, arsenal marking and serial number, are all there too.

-Great performance. This rifle shoots straight and, importantly, light. This is an infantry rifle, not a sniper rifle, and the relatively low FPS output means that you'll be able to use it that way at the field. At the same time, shots are straight and the bolt isn't too stiff to work. Overall, it's very easy and fun to shoot.

-As you'd expect, it gets you lots of attention at the field! Great for showing off.

Nitpicks (cons):
-No front sight leaf. Basically, there's a tiny little slot where the front sight must have just popped out. Very nitpicky, I know, but here's the thing: look at the pictures Evike has uploaded of this rifle. There's a shot showing the front sight, and you can see that rifle also doesn't have a front sight leaf. Either this issue has come up more than once, or I was shipped that exact rifle. So what I'm saying is, don't be surprised if this rifle arrives without that leaf.

-Hop-up: Mine shipped too loose, and as a result I had some feeding issues. Once loaded, BBs would simply fall right down and out the barrel if I pointed it downrange. Simply tightening up the hop-up adjustment fixed that, so this was really a non-issue.

-Weight: It's too light! Depending on your preference, this could perhaps be a pro: compared to the real-steel version, this is a much lighter rifle. This mean's you'll certainly have an easier time running around with it at the field. For me personally, I would've really loved some extra heft to it; make my time on the field feel like an arm workout.

-Magazines are scarce. Not a fault of the gun itself, but you might be limited to that single 20-25 round magazine until you get lucky and find some other source for them. That just means you'll have to make good shots

"This gun is absolutely beautiful! The design of the wood and strength of the metal is amazing. Pulling back the bolt is smooth and feels good in the hands. The only issue (and this might just be mine) is that it is shooting NO WHERE close to the FPS as declared on this page. I'm sure I can just upgrade the spring in it, although with replacement parts so scarce I may just use it as a wall hanger. Over all the build is amazing! Feels good in the hands and the bolt is as smooth as any other bolt action (Course, you have to have some strength to pull it back, it's a little tough until it's used a few times.) I'll probably use this on the field and see how it does, if it doesn't do too well then I'll be adding it to the wall and marveling at the well built metal and wood, just like it was all those years ago.

Over all, 8/10.

"Alright finally got one

Pros:
Highly accurate for me
Seemingly durable rifle save for the plastic mag
Good weight, not too heavy not too light
Functional bayonet attachment if you're into that
Good fps (punches right through cardboard)
Working(historically accurate) safety feature
Imperial crest and some Japanese markings to give it that ww2 feel ;)

Cons:
Magazine is plastic and while not as awkward to load than the m1903 mag, it's still finicky.
Incredibly frustrating bolt. The bolt is hard to pull back, which is expected and passable, but it has trouble catching when the user pulls back all the way, sometimes it doesn't have this problem and sometimes it does, not to mention that the rifle can sometimes fire without the user pulling the trigger when the bolt is pushed forward very rarely.
This rifle can jam very easily if the shooter does not pay extra attention to the bolt when firing even semi-fast(definitely not a rifle to speedshoot)

Overall I'm relatively impressed with this arisaka considering how affordable it is. I will definitely be using this for outdoor games(dressed as an Imperial soldier of course :) ) The main problem is just wrestling with that bolt but besides that this rifle is serviceable and highly recommend if you have the patience to deal with it.

"The real arisaka is a really good arisaka, the arisaka is my favorite rifle in ww2. Me and my dad owns a type 99 and a type 38, and oh man I love playing Japanese in airsoft games. However the airsoft type 38 is a pretty poorly made arisaka that functions badly. Here are my pros and cons:

Pros:
The airsoft arisaka is exactly replicated exactly as the real gun.

The gun would have features just like the real one, like the Imperial amblum and AA sights for example.

Lightweight unlike the real gun.

Cons:
The arisaka bolt action is quite rough to pull the more you pull it.

The arisaka also has problems of shooting the trigger. The more you play with it, then the more the trigger gets hard to pull. It has to do a lot of fixing though.

The rifle also has problems with shooting, this thing shoots by itself. If you open up the rifle, you’ll find the catcher that holds the bolt for it to shoot. The catcher is also too short to hold the arisaka bolt, so it would make it shoot by itself. I replaced it with another bigger catcher from the wielding machine and it’s pretty good.

The bayonet lug would be easy to come off. So it would be difficult for it to hold the bayonet. However when I glued the lug perfectly straight, the bayonet lug pointed to the right, so I can’t fit my bayonet on it. I did fit my bayonet on it because the bayonet hole was bended…….

Over all I say this rifle isn’t bad, but those who wanting to buy one of these. It has to come with a lot of repairing and it’s harder than you think. I mean if you buy these, good luck!!!

BONUS: I accidentally broke the arisaka bolt and it’s in the repairing shop. I hope it gets repaired soon..

"It feels and looks great.

Buuuut...the FPS is not as advertised. I couldn't even break through a paper plate with mine. Everything about it is awesome but the FPS. It's a really weak gun, at least the one I got.

Good gun, but not worth 400 dollars. Buyer's remorse :/
