Many of them are fine competition guns, but they lack the rugged durability and dependability of a solid, reliable duty or personal defense weapon. Seeing this gap in the market, and already well known for making high performance, rugged weapon systems, Salient Arms set to work producing a double stack 1911 that could clean up at the competition range and defend your home or protect your life in the field. The end result of years of research was the Salient Arms DS 2011 pistol. Precision machined with a form follows function attitude the SAI DS was manufactured for no other purpose in mind then to fill the needs of the hardcore shooting enthusiast. Equipped with aggressive front and rear slide serrations, milled lightening cuts on both side of the slide and aggressive competition style sights the SAI DS clearly is a pistol designed for shooters by shooters. As with all of their products, Salient Arms rewrote the rules of 2011 style pistols when they manufactured the DS, forging a new trail and leaving old conventions behind, the end result is a pistol that functions in the harshest conditions, under the heaviest of stresses and provides service you can stake your life on.
EMG has extended their collaboration with the Salient Arms and is proud to release the Salient Arms x EMG DS 2011 collaboration Airsoft Training pistol. Manufactured with an eye to detail the EMG SAI DS 2011 is CNC machined from aluminum alloy and features all of the trademarks of a Salient Arms pistol, incuding: a titanium nitride style barrel, competition style sights with fiber optic front insert, ambidextrous safety and, of course, stamped Salient Arms International rollmarks. " Just to be funny. I told y'all I'd buy another one. So small update on a few things. Nozzle might need regular maintenance to perform well long term, but through small mods and heavy use I busted a nozzles feeding nub off running co2 through it mag after mag seeing how it handles when it freezes up. Eventually I wore out bbu and it would catch and hang on the hammer, and I could not smooth it out for it to function. I did manage to find replacement parts. 10 out of 10, I bought again lol
" The low-key best pistol you can buy on the market hands down. Beats my 600 dollar custom marui extreme out the water. But you gotta do a few things, and I think I'm gonna answer all the questions. The mag release is horrible like awful super bad. You shave down a steel mag release in there and you are set. Next yes you can add a tracer unit...however you gotta drop in a new barrel. I did, and used a thread adapter so I could fit a 5.1 barrel. IF YOU CHANGE THE OUTER BARREL YOU MUST CHANGE BOTH THE HOP UP TO A TM STYLE AND A DIFFERENT SPRING GUIDE END TO ONE THAT DOESNT TOUCH THE BARREL.
I short stroked it with a cowcow buffer kit
And grabbed some CO2 mags
The gun is scaaaary in full auto. Shoots so fast and hard on CO2 the smart target can't register the hits fast enough
Tldr: few mods make this gun shoot faster and harder than a TM extreme, it takes CO2, you can tracer, and hpa
11/10 give me another so I can dual wield
" Very good pistol, I ran this alone and still did pretty well, accurate and a really good feel. I will say that there is some downsides to it though, for example, there has been several instances where I’d spun around to take cover behind a wall, and the mag went flying out of the pistol. Another drawback is that I got to spare AW Custom green gas mags that said was comparable, it didn’t cycle, it didn’t even hold in the reciever.
