APS "Silver Edge" 8mm Version 2 Non-Blowback AEG Gearbox (Wiring: Front)

"I originally bought this gearbox back in 2016 as a replacement for an elite force box i had that broke after about a day, and i'm going to buy another now. This box is actually incredibly smooth, but the wiring is leaving some room for improvement. The outdated standard fuse set up is lagging behind, and i actually recommend installing a Gate Merf 3.2 to the system. For those of us who don't enjoy the feeling of a micro-switch trigger's "dullness", this is a good box to get for 70 dollars. The stock compression components are OK, (personally i'm switching them out to better ones), but the gears, anti-reversal latch, bearings, and the shell are very well made. I never used to be a subscriber to the whole "polished gearbox" thing, but after seeing that it actually does improve the gearbox performance, ill never use anything else.

"I would say this gearbox is about average, or maybe even a bit above average.

I built an M4 with it from spare parts and it's shot very well with this gearbox. Using a M120 spring was reaching about 1.48 joules, just under the 1.5 joule limit most MilSim games have.

Worked great for about a year using a fairly even amount of both semi and full auto. The biggest downfall and why it quit was the piston teeth shredded, as they are all PLASTIC. A little disappointing to find since everything else seems to be well done, even the nozzle is metal.

Will definitely get your gun into a "rifleman" class capacity, but don't expect it to last forever. Good for a "project gun" that you plan on upgrading further later on....

Overall I'm happy with what I received, but only because I'm going to gut it entirely and transfer another guns internals into the shell for the quick change for my MP five

Pros:
Appears nice sturdy and the gearbox itself seems quality, reinforced at the bottom of the gearbox shell with a thicker area

Bearings are nice instead of bushings

Gears seem to be decent quality with a tappet advance spacer which is definitely a plus!

Metal, probably aluminum O-ring air nozzle


Cons:
Terrible AOE

Single O-ring cylinder head made a plastic/polymer

Single metal tooth piston, the rest is plastic/polycarbonate teeth of the actual piston came greased :(

A ridiculous amount of grease even in places that are not necessary but next to none on the piston rail

Neutral:
Plastic/polymer Piston head itself does not seem to be terribly bad, seems high airflow.

Corners of the cylinder window are not radiused. Would be a nice touch, but unless it's a hefty spring or a high rate of fire probably not necessary

"Gearbox molto bello, spedizione in tempi giusti calcolando la distanza, purtroppo però il percussore ha i dentini che si aggrappano al pistone inesistenti, quindi non funziona il blowback e poi spara a 1.15 joule. Purtroppo sono rimasto deluso e non so che fare. Spero che i fornitori mi contattino
