Black Owl Gear SSC Short Dot 1.5-6x24 Scope with Fiber Optic Illumination (Reticle: Red)

"Crystal clear glass, reticle is bright. does not use batteries despite what the description says. also uses 30mm rings despite the description.

"A good enough fiber optic, low-power variable optic. However, I don't know if it's just my eyesight, but the crosshairs don't appear to be exactly at the 0, 90, 180, and 270 positions, particularly the vertical ones. But, the fiber optic does the job very well when there's enough light.

Pros:
- Low Power Variable Optic
- Fiber Optic

Cons:
- Vertical crosshairs don't seem perfectly vertical, but at the ranges Airsoft is played at, it doesn't matter too much.
- Turret caps must be removed to zero in the sight (I carry an extra charging handle as a turning tool)
- Did not come with scope rings

Subjective:
- 1.5x Zoom means you need to get used to point shooting at close range, buy a scope-mounted optic, offset sights, or just retrain on how to see through both eyes at different zoom levels.

"this scope is great from what i can tell (i have yet to field it or even mount it on a gun, this is just a first impressions kinda thing, will update when i have more info to tell), it does not require and cannot make use of batteries at all but instead light hits these fibers on the top of the scope, the light then travels to the reticle and illuminates it. now of course this isn't a perfect system and will not always work in low light areas so in a dim arena you can expect the reticle to be dim as well, it all depends on how much light is hitting it.

the power of the scope and choice of reticle is great and allows it to be used as red dot sight when the front part is covered by the lens protector, for this to work you need to look down the scope with BOTH eyes open, this allows the scope to function well regardless of range. the power of the scope is excellent for airsoft with it's 1.5-6x power.

from what i can tell without having fielded this scope the quality is surprisingly good for a scope as cheap this, it's made of a all metal material (more than likely aluminum) and seems to be very tough but i have yet to test it's ability in zeroing and it's ability to keep said zero.

overall this scope (AGAIN I HAVE NOT FIELDED THIS, i will have a follow up review when i have fielded this scope) is a great buy and i am tempted to buy another to put on my real firearms. overall i would rate this scope a 4 out of 5 stars. because the scope does not work well in dim areas and cannot make use of a battery to compensate for this drawback; it loses a star. again, this scope is great regardless of drawbacks and i would highly recommend it.
