"Installed this in my custom build gearbox with 16:1 SHS gears running an M120 spring and it works great! The shots are crisp and complete when shooting it does not leave the piston half cocked between shots. The burst mode is cool and is a nice feature to have something other than full auto. I would definitely recommend.
"just for a bit of background, I'm coming from gate asters and perun v2 hybrids, so when it comes to mosfets, i'm spoiled.
that being said, this mosfet/etu assembly leaves much to be desired. yes, it works how intended, but for the price you pay, i wouldn't consider it to be worth it.
installation-wise, kind of a pain. there's a total of 6 wires that need to be funneled from the microswitch to the rear of the gun. they're all super stiff, don't hold their shape, and are not very cooperative.
the unit itself works, but it has a lot of... quirks.
- first, the entire unit only has one programmable feature, 3 round burst. you'd think with all those signal wires they'd actually be useful for something cool. nope.
- the mosfet is picky with batteries. when there's a battery it doesn't like, it just shuts off. no fuses blown, no short circuit, nothing. it just shuts off. this is apparently a known issue with this mosfet. it only likes 7.4v lipos, around the 1200-1400 mah range. even worse, the mosfet's lights don't indicate anything wrong when this happens, so you're completely in the dark.
- sometimes, the unit just doesn't respond. i've observed this in two separate units, so i know it's not just a defect. on some occasions, you pull the trigger and the microswitch clicks, but nothing happens. then you release and pull again, nothing. you do it one more time, and it fires. again, no fuse blown, no short circuit, and the mosfet tells you nothing. just an issue with reliability.
so what's my tl;dr?
for the money, it's very limited and annoying to use at times. it works, but not without significant quirks. it replaces trigger contacts, but adds its own roster of problems with the microswitch and mosfet. is it worth the price? well, i got mine for around 50 bucks, and it wasn't worth it then. now it's 63 and it's even less worth it.
i'd recommend skipping this, paying 5-10 bucks more (depending on where you shop), and getting a perun v2 hybrid with far more features and control
