"This is amazing paired with a perun ETU++!

"Installed this in my custom build gearbox with 16:1 SHS gears running an M120 spring and it works great! The shots are crisp and complete when shooting it does not leave the piston half cocked between shots. The burst mode is cool and is a nice feature to have something other than full auto. I would definitely recommend.

"just for a bit of background, I'm coming from gate asters and perun v2 hybrids, so when it comes to mosfets, i'm spoiled.
that being said, this mosfet/etu assembly leaves much to be desired. yes, it works how intended, but for the price you pay, i wouldn't consider it to be worth it.
installation-wise, kind of a pain. there's a total of 6 wires that need to be funneled from the microswitch to the rear of the gun. they're all super stiff, don't hold their shape, and are not very cooperative.
the unit itself works, but it has a lot of... quirks.
- first, the entire unit only has one programmable feature, 3 round burst. you'd think with all those signal wires they'd actually be useful for something cool. nope.
- the mosfet is picky with batteries. when there's a battery it doesn't like, it just shuts off. no fuses blown, no short circuit, nothing. it just shuts off. this is apparently a known issue with this mosfet. it only likes 7.4v lipos, around the 1200-1400 mah range. even worse, the mosfet's lights don't indicate anything wrong when this happens, so you're completely in the dark.
- sometimes, the unit just doesn't respond. i've observed this in two separate units, so i know it's not just a defect. on some occasions, you pull the trigger and the microswitch clicks, but nothing happens. then you release and pull again, nothing. you do it one more time, and it fires. again, no fuse blown, no short circuit, and the mosfet tells you nothing. just an issue with reliability.
so what's my tl;dr?
for the money, it's very limited and annoying to use at times. it works, but not without significant quirks. it replaces trigger contacts, but adds its own roster of problems with the microswitch and mosfet. is it worth the price? well, i got mine for around 50 bucks, and it wasn't worth it then. now it's 63 and it's even less worth it.
i'd recommend skipping this, paying 5-10 bucks more (depending on where you shop), and getting a perun v2 hybrid with far more features and control

"Purchased for an apr115 (silver edge gearbox)
I definitely think it is worth the money although I killed mine.
Upon initial install I tested and it worked great before I completely assembled it.
the smaller Selector plate that came with the package was molded just short of being able to go from semi to full where full would not engage. No problem I used the one that came with the original gear box but in doing so I broke the very delicate little black piece of plastic that protrudes from the back of the trigger component that is supposed to interact with the selector plate. ( a little bigger than a pin head ) Ok I will live with just semi for now. Once completely assembled you come to find out that the safety lever catches the trigger mechanism so it wont come out of safety. No problem I took it apart and ground down the safety lever until it clears the trigger box. Now once I put it all back together you come to find out that the wires that come out the back, they use couplings so close that it makes it too thick for the stock barrel to fit. no problem I used my handy Dremel to grind out some of the barrel to accommodate the thicker wires. I am excited almost there. Now its completely back together and tested the programing, all is good, response is great feeling good. called my son and guess what when he went to use we smelled burning. Ha, I win I think I used up all my bad luck for the year. Oh yes another little note be careful with the wires that attach to the trigger unit. 4 wires in a little plastic encasing were loose on mine to where I actually had to reinsert it. Even after all that I still think its a bargain just be extra careful with it and inspect and correct.

"I purchased this ETU/Mosfet for my G&G R8-L. The R8-L is considered to be a generation behind the guns that came with this combo so I had to slightly modify things to get this to fit. If you are doing the same here are the things that you will need to modify to make this fit.
. To fit the ETU in the gearbox you will need to remove material from the bottom of the ETU in order to accommodate the trigger safety bar as the stock one will get stuck on the red plastic as the bar moves over up.
. You will need to remove material from the gearbox to make sure the ETU fits in the gearbox. For me, I had to Dreme a peg where the trigger contacts sit in the gearbox and remove material to the left of that.
In terms of usability, this MOSFET falls extremely short and is in part the reason why I am rating this low. For starters, this MOSFET is extremely bare in features and only features a convoluted burst feature as well as a battery alarm. That's it. Everything else about the MOSFET is generally bad. This unit is extremely sensitive to the type of batteries you can use. In the manual, it says to not use batteries above 25c discharge rate and it is serious about that. realistically, the only battery that you'll be able to use with this is a 7.4-volt lipo with that discharge rate. If you use a battery that is more powerful like a bigger 7.4 or 11.1 it will fire for maybe 10-20 shots and the gun will stop firing. If you plug the battery back in will start firing again but you'll encounter the same issues. On the other side if you use a smaller battery it will work okay but the low battery detection is overly aggressive and warns of a low battery way too early. This can also trigger safeguards in the MOSFET which will make the gun stop firing. As for the ETU, it is at least functional however in my experience even with the aftermarket ETU++ by Perun I've had issues where it will double tap or 3-round burst on semi. If I were to guess this would be an issue where the cutoff cam on the ETU doesn't interface with the cutoff lever correctly or the trigger button is malfunctioning. Overall the ETU has a lot fewer flaws than the MOSFET.
In my opinion, the $60 for this is absolutely not worth the money as the MOSFET that comes with this is frankly trash and while the ETU is okay, it still has its problems. In an ideal world, Evike would sell the ETU and Perun ETU++ as a package deal as the ETU++ solves 90% of the issues with the default MOSFET. At the very least they could sell the ETU by itself as that is where most of the usefulness of this product is contained. The only way I can recommend this product is if you immediately buy a Perun ETU++ and plug it in. With the ETU++ this would easily get a 5/5 but as this product stands, It only receives a 2 out of 5 for the massive flaws.
