"I just received this Colt SRC 1911A1 Government model in silver (nickel) finish, and from a standpoint of how it looks, and workmanship, it is done very well. Some of the Evike pictures aren't great, and details are washed out, but the bottom picture showing the left side rollmarks are how they look in person. Very even and sharp, and looks to be laser engraved, not just painted on. And they managed to get the punctuation correct too, unlike some others I've seen!
It is very hard to find any flaws on my gun, only one small rough spot on the right front trigger guard where the 69 is engraved, it is a bit rough machine marks under the finish, but still fine. The bottom of the hammer does have a line, but that's being pretty picky, and doesn't bother me either. In some pictures here, it appears that the slide and frame are different shades, but not on my gun. The nickel plating is very even, and it looks to be pretty heavy, not thin at all, even on the heavyweight, plated magazine.
I haven't shot it yet, but I'm pretty confident it will be fine, from other videos I've seen with them on Youtube. Also what I like is that it seems the green gas and co2 mags can be interchanged in this Colt SRC 1911, though it isn't stated on Evike's description. If true, it means it's a nice feature to have and makes this 1911 more versatile than others. And it feels like a real 1911 too.
The only thing I might have an issue with is seeing the smaller sights, being an old guy, but they seem fine in most lighting conditions, but not all. Certainly not 3 dot sight nice, or easy, but it is traditional for a Colt 1911A1. And that is what I like about this one. Very nice gun that will fit in any 1911 holster-no rails to get in the way there!
