Laylax NITRO.Vo Strike Rail System Handguard for Krytac Kriss Vector AEGs

"It's billet machined, thick enough to feel sturdy and mounts perfect to my Kriss Vector SDP..I would assume it fits directly to airsoft guns but in my situation I over sized the barrel hole to clear 45acp barrel and installed a M16 European metric left thread adaptor to 5/8 SAE standard 28 thread for muzzel brake or my ASR silencer mount..
I call the Nitro rail a nice upgrade to my SDP and after thousands of rounds of 45acp it hasent even discolored from the barrel heat ..So to the Na sayers some parts like certain rails , hand grips ect can be used on real firearms..In the case of the strike system it's excellent at holding lights, Side hand stops , lazers or whatever turns you on that is rail mounted...

"This won’t be as long as the other reviews on here but I’ll try to make it informed. This is a very solid rail (although a tad heavy) and super easy to install and make your vector look absolutely sick. The one thing I was questioning was if you were able to stick outer barrel threads threw the hole at the end of the rail and add a suppressor or something. Sort answer no, long answer yes. The hole is just small enough so your treads can’t fit inside of it. If you wanted to have a suppressor or tracer unit on this it will require some extreme modifications that could potentially destroy your rail. You would need a outer barrel extension as small as .75inch and you would need to us a dermal to drill a good portion of the hole on the end of the rail. If non of that is your concern than I would highly recommend this rail.

"So I just got this in and I installed the extended magazine release from them first before the handguard kit. They may have changed something when I got it, because mine was a drop in fit into my Krytac Vector without much hassle.

Do note that with vertical grips that required to be slide on from one end or the other will not fit from the front of the handguard kit and will need to be installed on the existing rail before the kit. Mainly due to how the handguard kit was designed with the front end of it being wider that prevents grips from being inserted from the front.

With my outer barrel, it was an easy fit as I had no other muzzle device and left the threads exposed.

Currently I have an MFT vertical grip that's bridging the gap between the bottom rail and the handguard rail.

Overall, it's very nice looking and seems to be quite durable, just make sure to torque the bolts down when installing. I took the bolts down to about 18 inch pounds to secure them. Only real gripe was with the front end not allowing some grips to be slipped in from the front (including the guard that is supposed to go with the kit which I'll explain in another review.

Looks nice, adds more functionality and doesn't add much length to the Krytac Vector.

"Ok, so this is going to be a very interesting review.

I have used this product on both the Alpine Kriss Vector airsoft gun by Krytac, and yes i know Krytac is owned by Kriss USA, and the Alpine Kriss Vector pistol by Kriss USA in 10mm.

Overall, this is a nicely made and tough piece of gear. All the screw holes align as they should. Color is as depicted and mine came with no scratches or blemishes. The rails line up enough so that you can slide a LaRue hand stop between them but it isn't 100% perfect. That being said, I did try connecting a few items to bridge the gap and had no issues.

That being said, there are some issues and, ironically, they are mostly centered around the airsoft side but I'm going to cover how it fits on a Kriss (10mm) manufactured gun first.

This works great on the Kriss Vector (10mm) made by Kriss. No issues installing it whatsoever. The bore hole is large enough to fit an entire 10mm round through, casing and all. Anything smaller shouldn't be an issue. My 10mm has the factory barrel and it is very stubby. The bore hole doesn't interfere but I can't attach anything on it as the guard basically acts as a barrel extension once properly installed. There is no chance of adding on something to the barrel while this is installed. Also, you WILL get gas venting into the cover but it will just be a little bit more than a revolver cylinder gap. I would probably get this modified to allow the gas to vent out the side and would have to get the bore expanded to add a longer barrel so the threads are accessible. But why would you want that for a barricade cover? The entire point is to protect the barrel and be flush with it.

Now, on to the Krytac airsoft gun. Remember, this product is made for airsoft guns so I assumed it would fit on a factory model without issues. No and it is because of the same problem as posted above. The Krytac airsoft gun has a longer barrel than the real Vector. Long enough to make it impossible to add the cover on without heavy modifications, even with the factory birdcage removed. So, right out of the box, to use it as intended, you either need a new barrel and give up all chances of ever using tracer kit OR take it to a literal gunsmith to work on it.

Now, it isn't hard to see that this product was made for the KWA Vector and not the Krytac but the rail should have been updated with the change of production standards as I can not find any proof that the KWA Vector is still in production. However, I didn't look very hard but there are no new ones for sale so...

So... Laylax is selling a product for an airsoft gun that isn't in production and doesn't fit on the current production run of airsoft guns that are literally made by the maker of the real gun. BUT it does fit on the current production run of the real firearms, SBRs and pistols, made by Kriss. Interesting...

Anyways, I am currently deciding on what to do for my Krytac. EIther I'm getting a larger barrel and getting a gunsmith to cut it down and add 14mm N threads to it do it is as flush as possible and can still run a tracer kit as well as mod the cover to allow the barrel to stick through. Or just mod the cover to let the barrel go out as far as possible and when I want a tracer kit, I would swap back to the factory fore grip. It is a 4 screw job and not a big deal.

The second airsoft down side is that the Krytac Alpine has no attached bottom rail. So you will have to go out and buy one on top of the cover purchase.

Final rating is 4/5 due to it not being modified to keep up with current models and doesn't do what it was made to do. Be an airsoft cover. I do knowledge that the model it was made for isn't in production anymore but update...

If you are thinking about getting this for your Vector firearm, do it. It is a solid cover and rail system and not a plastic POS.
If you are looking into getting it for a Krytac Vector, pass unless you understand and are of with the fact that you will need to do major modifications out of the box to run it.
