The AS VAL (Avtomat Special'nyj Val, or Special Automatic Rifle, code name: "Shaft", GRAU designation 6P30) is a Soviet-designed assault rifle featuring an integrated suppressor. It was developed in the first half of the 1980s in the Central Research Institute of Precision Engineering (TSNIITOCHMASH). Since 1987, the VAL was added to the arsenal of the Soviet Army and the KGB and is used by Russian Spetsnaz special forces in the MVD, FSB, OMON, SOBR, GRU, and select units of the Russian Army.
The VAL shares 70% of its components with its sister-gun, the VSS Vintorez. Differences are a skeletonized steel stock which folds to the left for storage and transportation. The reliability of the rifle is equivalent to an AKM, including functioning in difficult conditions such as dust, dirt, sand, rain, at a temperature range from -50 C to +50 C

" I bought this gun in February of 2025. The build construction is good with metal dust cover and metal lower receiver and a metal suppressor. There is very little wobble amongst the whole gun. Battery initialization is not too bad either. The suppressor comes off easily and reinstalls easily. You can fit a stick type or butterfly type battery in there. With aa 7.4v 20c lipo, the fire rate was around 900 rpm. With an 11.1v 20c lipo, the fire rate jumps to over 1200rpm, but it appears to shoot too fast for the gears to keep up. It will feed but I wouldn't risk using a 11.1 with this gun for the gearbox's sake. It does have a mosfet that sits inside the magwell. It can take ak rail mounts. I use the 20 dollar rail mount you can find on evike. The fps ootb was 380 or around 1.3j with a .2g bb. It shot straight and could lift aa .3g bb with about 1/3 hop applied. It is a slider style hop up. The dust cover retracts about 2/3 of the way of aa full travel dust cover. Main thing I like about this model is the more accurate dimensions compared to the LCT, specifically in regards to the height of the receiver which is only 58 mm somehow they crammed a v3 gearbox into. Overall, it is a lovely replica of the AS VAL. When I got it, it was not MAP applicable so I got 15% off which brought the price down to $250.
" Definitely a great gun, I wouldn't pick this for very much modification because I'm sure there isn't a lot of AS-VAL parts out there but still a really cool and reliable gun.
" I got this gun in October 2020 and I have fielded it often since buying it and I can honestly say for this review I looked at both LCT and then King Arms as for cyma didn't have theirs in stock at the time to look at. First off I can honestly say in my opinion the KA version of the as val is much lighter and balanced feeling as well as the fitment of the polymer parts actually looks like KA took time and cared about the look externally versus the LCT was brown and black (they have black pieces to buy) and the fitment of the polymer parts was not impressive for the price point. I preferred the KA version and that is what I got and oh boy what an amazing choice!
I purchased two 7.4 1400 mah lipo batteries for it.
PROS:
-Straight out of the box shot 405 fps sounds snappy as well
-hop up was interestingly easy to adjust and once it is honed in its awesome
-barrel battery compartment is easy-ish to access(comes with battery management device so you battery isnt hanging out inside the mock suppressor)
-good range of magazine capacities (mid cap and high cap)
-amazing construction all around very solid feeling
-KA sells the barrel picatinny rail mounts
-people notice and recognize the hell outta this gun
CONS:
-no drum mags yet
-barrel battery compartment can sometimes be a pain (don't let that deter you)
10/10 would buy as vals for all my friends to rush in with me
I cannot recommend this gun any more best bang for your buck at this price range
FASTFORWARD:
its February and I've just gutted the stock parts and put in parts list:
shs piston head/ new long high torque motor/ kratos piston/ rocket steel gears 16:1/ maple leaf super 70 degree bucking/ Prometheus 6.03 barrel/nano heard mosfet
WOW this gun is freaking crazy it shoots clear across the field, its snappier then ever, makes the craziest unique noise, the rps is nice but mainly its range and accuracy is second to none in my collection and this has truly become an amazing build thanks Evike!!
PS i may be back for a warfet if it fits!!!
