"Definitely a great gun, I wouldn't pick this for very much modification because I'm sure there isn't a lot of AS-VAL parts out there but still a really cool and reliable gun.

"I got this gun in October 2020 and I have fielded it often since buying it and I can honestly say for this review I looked at both LCT and then King Arms as for cyma didn't have theirs in stock at the time to look at. First off I can honestly say in my opinion the KA version of the as val is much lighter and balanced feeling as well as the fitment of the polymer parts actually looks like KA took time and cared about the look externally versus the LCT was brown and black (they have black pieces to buy) and the fitment of the polymer parts was not impressive for the price point. I preferred the KA version and that is what I got and oh boy what an amazing choice!
I purchased two 7.4 1400 mah lipo batteries for it.
PROS:
-Straight out of the box shot 405 fps sounds snappy as well
-hop up was interestingly easy to adjust and once it is honed in its awesome
-barrel battery compartment is easy-ish to access(comes with battery management device so you battery isnt hanging out inside the mock suppressor)
-good range of magazine capacities (mid cap and high cap)
-amazing construction all around very solid feeling
-KA sells the barrel picatinny rail mounts
-people notice and recognize the hell outta this gun
CONS:
-no drum mags yet
-barrel battery compartment can sometimes be a pain (don't let that deter you)
10/10 would buy as vals for all my friends to rush in with me
I cannot recommend this gun any more best bang for your buck at this price range
FASTFORWARD:
its February and I've just gutted the stock parts and put in parts list:
shs piston head/ new long high torque motor/ kratos piston/ rocket steel gears 16:1/ maple leaf super 70 degree bucking/ Prometheus 6.03 barrel/nano heard mosfet
WOW this gun is freaking crazy it shoots clear across the field, its snappier then ever, makes the craziest unique noise, the rps is nice but mainly its range and accuracy is second to none in my collection and this has truly become an amazing build thanks Evike!!
PS i may be back for a warfet if it fits!!!

"I have been sitting on making a review for this rifle but had to wait for the battery and charger to come in so I could fire it before actually writing one.
Immediately out of the box it is one solid unit. The small amount of polymer on it feels durable. The entire construction leaves no loose or hanging parts, this includes the sling mount on the rear. As there is another AS VAL on the market, this model has the correct (or nearly correct) dimensions of the receiver cover. (compare them and i'm sure you would see it) and if that difference does not bother you, then I have no clue of the other model. However, This is my number one choice over any other gun, and when deciding on which, I needed the model that was more accurate to the RL rifle.
The battery i'm using is an 11.1 Lipo tricell, the one recommend by evike.
I've used six different mags with it, (all King Arms VSS mid caps) and had no issues with any of the mags or the weapon itself. I have not used the high-cap that comes with the gun, I do not run high-caps so I was just gonna find someone who had a VSS model and give it to them, no review for the included mag other than the mid caps wobbled far less than the high cap.
It meets my demands for FPS with regards to distance and accuracy, 100% cheeki breeki. However, I do not possess a chrono to get an exact number.
Incredibly accurate, easily a great choice for any stalker in a mid-to-close range environment. I'm not a full-auto person, but the ROF is perfect for me in bursts and in semi. With an instant wind up, and excellent trigger movement, it surpassed my expectations. Both mechanisms for the safety and fire-selector are sturdy and function properly.(Mind you, they are separate mechanisms. One behind the trigger and the AK style selector is the safety)
As for the stock, there is nearly no movement worth recognizing as a wobble. It locks into place and stays there. When you fold the stock (which is folding to the correct side unlike another model) it takes a little getting used to. As it attaches (at least on mine) at a hard angle that you hold the lever to allow it to lock in. In other words, I WOULD NOT recommend anyone attempting to slam the stock into the folded position, this might bend or break some a piece unnecessarily. Not meaning that the stock is weak by any means, it is a sturdy solid steel stock.
Battery storage is easy to operate with the recommended battery, and the gun comes with the tricell ring mount for inside the suppressor where the battery goes, in case it isn't mentioned.
Over all, I feel like anyone reading this is a fan of the rifle, of Russian weaponry, or a fan of wicked integrally suppressed weapons, all like I am. Especially considering many do not even know this weapon exists. Many people ask me what it is every time they see it and have never heard of it. That being said, if you are wondering if this unit is worth it, I say yes. It is great for any Russian loadout and sticks out. For $300, (+ mags, charger, battery etc.) this was a very good purchase for me. Hopefully for someone else too. I believe RUSFOR could use some more specialized units on the field, myself.

"I had a long review, but lost it.
In short, this gun is definitely worth the money, even more so with a coupon code applied.
Great externals, but lightweight and manueverable, and also a great finish and very durable with almost no wobble.
Internals are great stock, can handle a 20/40c LiPo well with the inline mosfet, and has good range, accuracy, consistency, trigger response, rof, and a good sound (good AOE and ok shimming.)
I would definitely recommend this. If you're deciding between the LCT AS Val and this, buy this if you play in CQB, and get the LCT for more mid to long range engagements.
