Its design was to solve an issue where a standard full size rifle proved to be too heavy and unwieldy for specialized infantry to adequately perform their assigned duty while still lugging around a heavy backup weapon. The M1 Carbine with is .30 cartridge helps to bridge the gap between a full size rifle round and pistol round.

" My very first and proudest purchase of an airsoft gun! This M1 Carbine is a beast! Very neat replica.
" If you are looking for a historic replica that will fill the WWII and Vietnam role, this carbine is great. The c02 does not leak and is very powerful, kicks hard and feels great when you shoot an enemy player with it. Really gives those 15 rounds some purpose. My biggest complaint is with the imitation wood, its just not sturdy enough. I had to wrap it with camouflage rope to get the front portion of the hand guard to stay sturdy. In addition, I unscrewed the front sling mount to open up the top half of the wood and had to put loads of electrical tape in it to keep it steady. After I had wrapped the stock and the handguard up with rope and tape it felt very sturdy, like it should.
