"I’ve had the slide on my gun for about 3 days, so far it runs great. I have yet to use it in a game yet, however it functions flawlessly from my “homemade” tests. Meaning I’ve gotten it to fire flawlessly, slide locks back no issues, it works like the stock slide works. However since I haven’t had the chance to use it in game I’m going to more or less review the installation process and some problems I ran into that I would like to address incase you, the reader of my review, happens to buy this slide and also runs into these issues.

First thing I would like to mention is that the gun I started with was not a Glock 17, but a Glock 34. There are very small but worth noting differences in the blowback unit that effect installation significantly. The Glock 34 has the same blow back unit found on the G18, the way I could tell is that the blowback unit is literally labeled “G18V2”, and also because I have a EF G18 that’s been disassembled because is stopped working a month after I bought it LMAO. Anyways, if I could attach photos I would. This “G18V2” blowback unit has the nozzle return spring attached to the nozzle and the blowback unit via screw and does not sit on a guide rod like the G17 blowback units do. So, you do not need to remove a guide rod if you are starting from a G18 platform (G18 is Gen3 so it will not be compatible with this slide.) or a G34. Lastly the biggest modification you’ll need to make to your blowback unit is having to dremel / file down two nubs that are on the back top of the blowback unit. DO NOT MAKE ANY OTHER MODIFICATIONS. I was lucky to have a spare blowback unit from my broken G18, so I could experiment a little. Those two nubs are the only two things preventing you from installing your G18V2 blowback unit and having it sit flush and properly. Another thing I would like to note is that another reviewer said you need to upgrade your nozzle return spring and recoil spring. I would recommend that you upgrade your nozzle return spring if you’re using a G17 blowback unit, as there is after market support for it and it will likely preform better. However if you unfortunately also happen to have a G18V2 blowback unit like me, they don’t make upgraded nozzle return springs for us yet. However all is still good as unless you plan on short stroking your pistol your nozzle should return perfectly fine with proper lubricant applied. However do upgrade your recoil spring, it will make the pistol shoot a ton better and a bit snappier. I recommend 120-130% recoil guides, but I put a 150% in mine because I’m a freak. LASTLY, (sorry for rambling) I would like to mention that if you plan on using after market sights, you will need to file down the sides of the little metal plate that goes under your rear sight for it to fit properly in the gun. Lastly, a tip, grease the ever living sh*t out of ur barrel, and the rails your slide moves on. Tolerances are very tight, And the slide comes with no lube applied at all, make sure you apply grease on metal on metal contacts, and silicon oil on plastic contacts. If you have more questions contact me via Instagram @fulysemiauto (it only has one L). Not a self promote, just trying to help people out.

TLDR I’m not writing a tldr read the whole review it might help you with installation of ur slide.

Slide gets a 5/5 for me, wish they would include an extra guide rod for the G17 boys as I’ve heard they break easily but I personally don’t have to deal with that so it will not affect my review at all.

"This is one of the best upgrades u can get for a g17, but be ready for some hiccups when ur installing. It's not a perfect drop in, the blowback housing has a tip at the back that needs to be filed down, and for a while it will be hard to get the slide on and rack it, and it'll catch. Be patient tho and just feed it some wd-40 and it'll loosen up pretty quick.
U do not need a new recoil spring, but it doesn't hurt to upgrade it. The kick on it feels awesome, which is really important to me cuz im using this as a training weapon. Slap on a tunable trigger and this thing feels amazing. Really happy with it, dont bother with getting salient slides from EMG or overseas, this gives u better performance and looks pretty sick imo.

"SO TO START IT WILL NOT WORK IF YOU ARE GOING TO USE THE STOCK SPRING GUIDE AND NOZZLE RETURN SPRING!
That being said after buying the 130% nozzle and spring guide springs it will cycle also word to the wise buy extra parts for for the internals the little sping guide for the nozzle return spring is fragile.

"Not a direct drop-in at all. The backplate would not fit flush within the slide even after heavy filing. The cutouts on the slide that fit onto the guiderail of the lower half of the frame would not line up properly. Last but not least, the included "screw" for the front side is completely smooth, no slot for a screwdriver, no hex-key, nothing. Completely smooth so you'll have to get creative while tightening it. Overall the construction of the slide and outer barrel is why I'm giving this a 3 star as opposed to 1, because it's definitely a solid slide, it just isn't drop-in.
