"TL;DR - Good performing gun and great realism for the money. I recommend.
The L85A2 has always had a place in my heart as a unique firearm since the days of TC’s Rainbow Six Vegas 2. To no surprise, having this in my airsoft arsenal was a no brainer as it brought back the nostalgia of those days.
Clearly, this is built for realism. Out in the field, the sheer weight and tank-like construction of this airsoft rifle will challenge your level of strength and endurance that not many players have. This is NOT a light airsoft gun. I highly recommend a sling! Either a 2-point sling or 3-point sling is needed. There is a front and rear sling point for hooks or straps. The balance is back heavy as the gearbox sits in the rear, but shouldering airsoft gun makes it feel noticeably light to aim and maneuver. The G&G L85A2 ETU performs well as it has a respectably high strength spring, good air seal, decent precision, and accuracy. All components good for an outdoor field. The FPS may be a little too high for indoor fields.
The G&G L85A2 ETU’s mid-tier pricing comes with mid-tier design choices and features that have been a delight to shoot - the snapping of the bolt as you pull the trigger and send a volley of BBs down range at the opposing team. One word: SATISFYING.
Teching and adding attachments to this airsoft gun poses challenges as some parts are proprietary and attachment solutions are not provided and need further investments in compatible products. I’ll list proprietary parts further below.
Overall, the G&G L85A2 ETU has served as an exceptionally reliable and good performing AEG out of the box, since I first ordered it back in February 2020. In a community filled with different AR platforms, it is refreshing to use and to see one of these out in the wild. To this day, its soap box exterior turn peoples’ heads and folks ask about the airsoft gun. It still stands as my go-to, and I would highly recommend this for anyone who is looking for a bullpup airsoft gun.
Pros:
• Excellent base for a compact “DMR”
• Great Out-of-the-Box Performance
• Durable
• Excellent Aiming Balance
• Gearbox Split Design (Easier Spring Changes)
Cons:
• HEAVY (~3/4 weight of Real Thing)
• Not Lefty Friendly
• Too hot for Indoors
• No Barrel Tracer Threading
Technical Things to Watch Out For:
• Mag Release Pin can slip out (Known Issue)
• Gearbox Lockup on Semi (Known Issue)
• Proprietary Gearbox Shell and Cylinder Head interface
• Proprietary Tappet Plate, Gearbox Shell, Cylinder Head

"The gun is good had mine now for over a few months now it a good platform I have the ics version two and o would chose the g&g over the ics. Only problem I had with it was the mag well was not securing my mags that well with a few good taps on the the mag to get in it work good.

"Beautiful in looks, however, magwell is too tight for some or most mags, kinda heavy, but i like the weight so there's that, and finally in cons the mag release and its retaining pin. YOU HAVE TO BE CAREFUL WITH THE MAG RELEASE IT WILL FALL OUT.
Positives, pretty solid, hits harder than my mother at times, and you can switch out the polymer handguard for a picatinny rail, super easy to switch from one or the other.
But my biggest issue is the mag release, my pin no joke just fell out, tried for months to find a replacement and couldn't ended up having to sell the gun, never got to play a single game with it, only a few bbs before the release just fell out and got lost to the void in Colorado.
