Loaded with other small touches such as ambidextrous fire controls, enhanced charging handles and machined lightening cuts, the Phantom Extremis takes on the look of some of todays most popular competitive shooting rifles.
When APS set out to develop the Silver Edge gearbox, they wanted to bring to market an ultra-smooth, low amperage draw, ultra-reliable system with huge upgrade potential. The newest iteration of the Silver Edge gearbox named eSilver Edge takes everything that made the original great and improves upon it.
The newly developed advanced S.D.U (Super Dynamic Unit) chipset monitors the amperage draw from shot to shot and will cut power to the gearbox if the current spikes too high before damage can be done to your gun.
To improve trigger performance, the eSilver Edge gearbox features a micro switch trigger which works together with the S.D.U. chipset for near instantaneous trigger response (as fast as 0.02 seconds). When combined with a short stroked trigger, users can achieve an incredible semi-auto rate of fire.
Additional to the reinforced internal parts, the gearbox shell itself has been greatly reinforced to withstand the stress of up to an M190 spring. Great thought and detail has gone into this gearbox to make it more durable, more efficient, and at the same time remain compatible with the great majority of Tokyo Marui Spec upgrade parts.

" Just got this gun today, and needless to say, I am. . . not disappointed at all. This gun straight outta the box is great, trigger response feels fantastic, the ambidextrous mag release and selector switch feel well polished. Everything about this gun feels extremely good. I will say that this is on par with my stock Noveske Gen 4. I can't wait to see how it plays on the field I go to.
" I am re-writing my review I previously posted because I have used this Airsoft AEG for almost two months now. I've got to say APS did a really fine job designing this AEG. The materials feel quality, and the gun shoots really accurate. I personally recommend using an 11.1v Stick-type LiPo battery because it performs a lot better than a 7.4v. I've used both types and the 11.1v one works best! I'm a big fan of the m-lok handguard rail! There are extra rail attatchments to mount picatiny rails on the handguard. Now I'm gonna list the Pro's and Con's of this rifle.
Pros:
Great finish (I got mine in MultiCam)
Looks very mean
Metal receiver and handguard
Very consistent FPS
Skeletonized trigger has a light pull
Stock is sturdy
Motor isn't actually that bad (if you use 11.1v battery)
Ambidex fire selector, and magazine release
Rhino night sights are excellent and multi-purpose
Cons
Charging handle can be a bit wobbly
May have to adjust the magazine to get it to feed
Bolt catch/release broke
Little space for battery
(Not sure where to put this one, but it didn't come with the sound blaster.)
Other Information
Use a small Tamiya connector (Not Deans)
Long shaft high torque motor will work fine for replacement
Use .20g or higher bb's
May have to buy another sling mount for the front, only comes with one
Great Gun!
" I've had this AEG for a few days now, and I wanted to give a quick review. Out of the box, the rifle comes with Rhino "Night Sights" which also serve as flip-up iron sights as well as a high-capacity magazine and some Picatinny rails to add to your m-lok handguard. The night sights aren't tritium or anything but they pick up light pretty well. The handguard is metal and the m-lok rail feels really good while gripping it. The gun out of the box is pretty accurate. The ergonomics is what I really like about this gun. The buttons are oversized for the good intended purpose and make it easier to change the fire selector, release the magazine and pull the charging handle. The stock is easy to extend and the m-lok rail is easy to add attachments. My only complaint may be the rate of fire as it is slow while on full-auto, but the skeletonized flat trigger makes it easy to be quick on semi-auto. It is quite difficult to remove the flash hider, and I wish APS would have included an extra sling swivel in the box because there is a m-lok slot for itone, but overall they designed this gun very well and I would highly recommend the Phantom Extremis.
