"Picked this up for a ground-up bench build. It fit nicely on a G&P M4 metal body and has a nice jet black anodized type finish, as opposed to thick paint. It has a steel castle nut that buffs out nicely for a slightly worn look, and threads onto the tube. The deep slots on the sides as pictured make installation and wiring easier. I tried several stocks on this tube and they all fit with a slight amount of movement; totally acceptable. Where it is less than ideal is the location where the screw and washer sit inside the tube for attaching to the receiver: It's roughly 1/3 of the way from the back of the receiver instead close to the receiver and takes up valuable battery space as a result. Keep this in mind if the full depth of the buffer tube for a battery is a requirement for your needs. Also, the included attaching screw is literally at least an inch too short. Luckily I had a spare long one in my kit.
