KWA is proud to announce a brand new, gas blowback bullpup rifle arriving to retailers in 2022. The officially licensed F90 from Lithgow Arms was the product of a four year partnership with both Lithgow Arms and Thales Australia for end use by the Australian Department of Defense.

The KWA F90 GBB features several improvements from the original AUG design including a shortened length of pull, extended top picatinny rail, additional picatinny space at the 3-6 o'clock positions, and a folding, non-reciprocating charging handle. The F90's trigger is a two-stage trigger where half a pull will fire one round in semiautomatic and a full squeeze will fire the rifle in full auto. The automatic lockout trigger ("ALO") acts as the rifle's fire selector and consists of pull tab located at the bottom of the trigger which prevents the trigger from fully travelling to automatic fire.

Many features found on the KWA F90 GBB were taken directly from the contracted GBB rifles supplied to Australian Army including the modular stock/receiver to barrel interface with one pin takedown, expansion slot for integrated grenade launcher found in the trigger housing, waffle patterned AUG style magazine, ambidextrous magazine release, mock adjustable gas block and ambi/adjustable ejection port.

Internally, the F90 shares several components with our existing line of GBB products with improvements to the hop up design and bolt carrier.

We are excited to bring this rare bullpup GBB to the airsoft community as a chance to own a firearm replica not offered to the civilian population.

"I love this bullpup. I like how compact yet how far it can shoot if you fine tune the hop up. I could land my hits with a 6 times scope. Very accurate and can shoot up to 90 BBs with one gas fill. The gun is not that loud when you shoot it even if your ear is right next to it. This gun in general is a lot of fun to shoot. I highly recommend it!

"Took my F90 to its first game today, and I was only planning on testing it for a few rounds, but ended up loving it so much that I used it the entire day

Internals:

Internals seem to be very good quality with good machining and precise tolerances. Didn't have any problems on 120 psi doing mag dumps (with the 400 fps model, at 120 psi with .2s, adjusted for .25s, it was shooting at 440-450 fps.)

Everything in the fcg is steel, except the trigger box itself, which is a very tough and smooth fiber reinforced polymer. Some other steel bits around the F90, like both the sling points (both of which can be swapped to the other side, just like the ejection port cover) and the barrel locking nut.

A nice thing to see was that the bolt has a roller bearing on the top and makes it ride really smooth, and the nozzle has a metal insert for the bb loader that meshes very well with the short feed ramp of the hopup unit. Also, kwa, THANK YOU FOR NOT GLUEING THE FLASH HIDER. The stock aluminum flash hider is very nice, but I just don't like the look (that, and it's anodized orange, so it stands out a lot.)

My only complaint about the internals is that the bucking and inner barrel are proprietary (hopup unit too, but that's to be expected). The hopup, barrel and bucking are all well made, with nice sealing and seating for the bucking, tactile clicks and a tdc style pressure pad for the hopup unit dial, and the barrel bore being smooth with no obvious imperfections.

However, the problem I faced was that, given the stock inner barrel is something like 267mm long, there's a very significant distance between the end of the inner barrel and the muzzle, meaning there's a chance of bbs striking any flash hider with an exit hole smaller than the inner diameter of the outer barrel (10mm, inner barrel stabilized with o-rings from the factory.) With the stock flash hider, this isn't a problem, but I had a few bbs strike the ports of a muzzle brake I added, and I can see it being worse with a mock suppressor/tracer/smoke unit (planning on getting a smoke wolf unit for the f90, in a mock rc2.) It only happened a few times back to back after a couple hundred shots in testing though, and after drilling out the exit holes in the muzzle brake to 10mm, I didn't have any issues. It also probably wouldn't have happened with heavier bbs than .25s (.32s would be good.)

I'll likely either get the barrel cut down to about 2 inches past the front of the receiver, or find some way to (heavily) modify the bucking cutouts on an aeg inner barrel to fit the stock outer barrel length.

Externals:

Externals are rock solid. Good finish on all the metals, plenty of steel parts, really nice polymer. Not really much to say about the externals, since I can't find any faults in it. I just wish there were a short picatinny section on the left hand side of the gun, since the only comfortable position to place a pressure switch is on the right side of the enlarged trigger guard/integrated grip(?)/ grenade launcher mounting thingy (top rail sits too high for someone with small to average size hands to get a good c-clamp on, and even then, the bottom pic rail is too short to support that.) A rear qd sling mount would have been nice as well, but other than that, I couldn't be happier with the externals.
The folding charging handle is also super nice.

Problems:

The only problem I had (other than the short inner barrel issue I mentioned) is that on my specific F90, the upper receiver and out barrel/hopup assembly weren't in line vertically, so I had to figure out how to disassemble it myself (at the time, I couldn't find any disassembly videos that covered the upper receiver, but it's actually very simple.) Likely just a one-off thing, but if your bbs are curving, I'd just take a quick look.

Disassembly:

Disassembly is actually very easy. Obviously, the upper and lower can be split extremely quickly with the cross slot bar, but even more than that, the inner barrel/hopup assembly can be removed from the upper with the removal of a single socket head cap screw (despite the ease of access, it's a very secure method.) However, I'd recommend using another inner barrel or something similar to push through the outer barrel, from the muzzle end, as the hopup unit sits pretty tightly in the outer barrel.
To disassemble the upper further, it's pretty simple, as you pretty much just remove all the hex head screws you see (including the front sling mount.)
The only "difficult" part is loosening the locking nut on the rear of the outer barrel, which secures the hopup unit housing. I'd recommend wrapping the outer barrel in a few layers of paper towel or cloth (enough to protect the finish, but not so much that the barrel slips/rotates,) then place it in a vice (you could also use the triangular mounting points/guiding holes for the charging handle rods, as one side is flat and thick enough to get enough contact with the vice.) After that, you just need to unscrew the barrel locking nut with a wrench.

The trigger group can be removed extremely easily: just rack the charging handle, push the cross slot bar to remove the upper receiver, push in on the circle on the back of the rubber butt pad, pull off the butt pad, pull out the rear sling mount and pin, then pull out the trigger group. Literally takes like 10 seconds.

Mags:

Not much to say here either. I know some people dislike the shiny finish on them, but other than that, they're very solid, and the feed lips feel super sturdy. I didn't run any of my 4 mags on green gas, so I can't speak to gas efficiency, but none of them had any leaks when connected to an hpa line.

Overall, this was a great purchase, and if kwa doesn't release different barrel options/ spare upper receivers, I might just get another F90 to have a short and long barrel model. In terms of gameplay, it was very effective at 450 fps (120 psi) as a dmr, and also a ton of fun to use, and had decent kick, especially for how light the bolt is.
If you're looking for something more unique than the ghk aug already is, then this is definitely a head turner, and you'll probably get quite a few questions about it on the field.

Final note, I'd recommend wearing at least some ear pro, since the action is relatively loud, but also right next to the shooter's ear.

At the time of this review, the F90 is like $440 with quicker shipping on amazon, as well as bundle options that come with a repro eotech exps3 or an lpvo, just thought it was worth mentioning.

"So I got the F90 (400fps) and I am very happy with how it feels in the hand, its very heavy and sturdy, with good hand placement not to feel too out of place. You don't even need to out a foregrip on this for it to feel like glove.

The Good and the Bad's for me so far, Some of these can be one off's or never even seen in your time of owning this.
*Mine came in and the hop-up wasn't working, I sent it in and got fixed, could have just been a lemon, Haven't heard of anyone else having this.
*Do not the inner barrel is SHORTER then the longer barrel by a good bit. I'm sure more inners will come out later, but if that's a issue for you I'd suggest waiting, but It does NOT effect performance at all.
*When the Hop up works, IT WORKS GOOD! I'm throwing .32g BB's out of this no problem at all! I don't know exact yardage, I do apologize but its more then necessary for most fields lol
*CLEAN YOUR WEAPON, as soon as you get it, shoot it and enjoy, then CLEAN IT, re-grease and clean barrel a few times, It has a break in period. But Do clean asap, DO YOUR RESEARCH.
*I found for bullpups that a 2 point sling feels better. It has a built in mount on front as well as rear, so shouldn't be a issue for you.
*VERY easy to take apart, almost TOO easy ( As in to clean it, do NOT take it apart further, voids that warranty!
*I use Propane in mine and it handles perfect, so don't be afraid to use it. (Use propane over green gas)
*The flash hider is 14mm Neg, CCW VERY hard to remove, so good luck!
*It is a 2 stage trigger, and it does very well, its a little stiff but that's what you want!
*Charge handle is right handed only, but does feel good, rest is ambi

That's the main things I can think of, Its a very awesome weapon, and I do recommend it for any bullpup lovers or GBB lovers, or even someone who wants to get into GBB. For me this is my first, and I am very happy with it!
